Job Description

InGenesis is currently sourcing candidates for the position of Referral Coordinator Manager to work for our potential client. In this role, you will be responsible for managing the referral coordinators.

Responsibilities and Duties:

  • Prepare, update, and maintain medical referrals.
  • Coordinate the purchase or rental of durable medical equipment.
  • Contact off-site community medical providers to schedule appointments.
  • Track compliance with scheduled patient appointments.
  • Identify documentation inconsistencies in referrals within the eHR, ensuring compliance and resolution.
  • Coordinate transportation and create sealed medical record packets.
  • Handle all correspondence requiring authorizations for payment of medical services.
  • Complete reports to ensure all referrals have been accurately processed before transmission for payment, correcting any errors found.
  • Assist in reconciling and resolving denied claims from outside providers.
  • Perform record-keeping functions.

Minimum Qualifications:

  • Associate's or Bachelor’s degree in a relevant field.
  • A minimum of 5 years of management experience in a healthcare setting as a medical record technician, medical record clerk, or similar position.
  • At least 2 years of experience scheduling medical appointments, including radiology procedures, specialty consultations, follow-up appointments, and surgical procedures.
  • Strong oral and written communication skills.
  • Knowledge of the basic principles and standards of eHR procedures and methods.
  • Basic fluency in medical terminology.
  • Familiarity with Current Procedural Terminology (CPT) codes.
  • Proficiency in common Microsoft Office programs.
  • Understanding of HIPAA/Privacy Act regulations and Personally Identifiable Information (PII).
  • Verbal proficiency in Spanish (preferred, but not required).
