InGenesis is currently sourcing Psychiatrist candidates for our potential client. In this role, you will perform a full range of mental health services in accordance with the privileges granted by the facility.

Responsibilities and Duties:
- Provide direct care to patients within the discipline's scope of practice and perform functions in accordance with current accepted practice, licensure, certification, credentialing, and granted privileges.
- Treat individuals throughout the lifespan as appropriate to the discipline and facility setting.
- Respond to and coordinate responses to medical emergencies as needed.
- Prescribe and monitor psychiatric medication treatment services, including monitoring side effects and adverse reactions.
- Offer comprehensive psycho-educational information with each medication/somatic treatment regarding the patient’s mental illness, emotional disturbance, or behavior disorder, including treatment goals, potential benefits, risks of treatment, self-monitoring aids, and identification of support groups for therapeutic assistance.
Minimum Qualifications:
- Doctor of Medicine or Doctor of Osteopathic Medicine from an accredited institution in the U.S., the District of Columbia, or a U.S. territory.
- Equivalent degree from a foreign medical school recognized as substantially equivalent to accredited U.S. schools, as established by the National Committee on Foreign Medical Education and Accreditation (NCFMEA) and permanent certification by the Educational Commission for Foreign Medical Graduates (ECFMG).
- Current, full, and unrestricted license to practice medicine in the state of New York.
- Satisfactory completion of an approved residency training program.
- BLS certification through the American Heart Association®
Physical Demands:
- Ability to walk unaided at a normal pace for up to 10 minutes and maintain balance.
- Respond to any medical emergency within 4 minutes, which may require a fast walk or jog.
- Perform CPR/emergency care standing or kneeling.
- Assist sick, injured, or aging detainees or staff exiting the building during an emergency (may require lifting, dragging, wheeling, or carrying).
- Must be able to see, hear, and smell with or without the use of aides (exceptions on a case-by-case basis).
- Easily alternate between kneeling and standing.
- Capable of lifting, pushing, or carrying 30 pounds.
- Able to stand on hard surfaces (cement floors) for long periods.
