Information Technology | Fremont, CA | Contract | From $92,200 to $106,878 per year

Job Description

InGenesis is seeking an IS Trainer to work with our client. In this role, you will perform frequent gap analysis on the user workflows, create best practices and train users on best practices to improve overall user productivity.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities

  • Serve as a key training resource.
  • Train new staff and providers on OCHIN EPIC EHR, Wisdom, and other applications as needed.
  • Ensure that the training content is current and available.
  • Provide project management support for EPIC and other IS related training.
  • Analyze gaps in workflow by frequently shadowing staff.
  • Create best practice workflow documents.
  • Work with IS Leadership and Helpdesk to determine repeated training issues and help reduce the ticket volume by training the users.
  • Create training documents for OCHIN EPIC and other application upgrades and training.
  • Work with departments to identify gaps in data collection and train users to improve KPIs and other reporting metrics.
  • Support with tier II and III application issues and mentor IS Helpdesk.
  • Assist with ongoing development, implementation and customization of the EMR.
  • Participate in testing new functionality and/or software upgrades.
  • Provide support for any Go Live projects.

Secondary Responsibilities

  • Work flexible schedule and overtime, as necessary.
  • Attend workgroups, workshops, training, and meetings as needed, and as requested.
  • Perform other duties as assigned by supervisor.

Required education, experience, and training

  • Minimum 2 years supporting EPIC applications.
  • Familiarity with EPIC Clarity database.
  • BS degree in business systems, computing or related field or combination and/or education and experience is necessary.
  • Minimum 3 years business systems experience.
  • OCHIN EPIC site specialist or certification within 90 days of hire.
  • Experience in training users in EPIC.
  • Experience with EPIC upgrades and usage of upgrade tools.
  • Proven ability to communicate effectively with various levels of knowledge, skills and responsibilities.
  • Strong understanding and experience with clinical workflows.
  • Detail oriented, fast-paced, adaptable to rapidly changing situations with a strong understanding of customer relations.
  • Highly organized and task driven.

Preferred education, experience and training:

  • Prior experience assessing, developing, implementing and evaluating training needs.
  • Strong understanding of CMS Meaningful Use, HRSA UDS Reporting, PCMH and PQRS reporting preferred.

Work Conditions:

Travel locally to visit other sites, may require a day or overnight trip to attend events; workload may be demanding at times; require professionalism and confidentiality.

Physical Demands:

  • Sitting, walking, and standing are associated with a normal medical/clinical office environment.
  • Regular bending and stretching; and lifting.
  • Manual dexterity used to include, but not limited to, standard office equipment, and computer keyboard.
  • Traveling to work sites includes some exposure to outside elements.
  • Presenting information in front of a group.
  • Reading and writing in order to review records for accuracy.
