This role is responsible for developing business plans & implement growth strategies for the achievement of the IELTS revenue goals for IDP.

This role requires to manage the Referral Partner base, drive referral contribution & at the same time promote the IELTS tests in schools, universities, language schools, corporate companies & other relevant organisations.

 Key Performance Area & Key Responsibility

Business Planning & Development 

In consultation with Country Management Team create mid/long-term strategy and develop an annual IDP:IELTS business plan for the country

Develop and execute an operational plan to deliver the annual program of work (defined in the business plan) based on required performance standards

Identify opportunities for IELTS business development within the country that align with IDP:IELTS core business and IDP strategic direction and priorities

Work closely with the Country & Regional team and collaborate where appropriate with the IDP:IELTS team to scope new business opportunities, with consideration for growth, brand value and business risk. Implement the program of work to capitalise on agreed opportunities.

Use and promote the IELTS / IDP brand and brand messaging with integrity in all business development activity

Engage with the Referral Partner Pool through regular visits to enhance partner base & referral contribution

Developing and implementing growth of Computer-delivered IELTS

Perform market research to identify new opportunities & establish strategies for pursuing the opportunities.

Increase distribution landscape using the shared lab model & IDP CD Labs.

Sales Planning

Analyse the IELTS booking trends / patterns & identify new opportunities.

Propose innovative strategies to constantly engage & retain referral partners.

Conduct competitor monitoring on activities / offers     / pricing / share etc.

Organising & running IELTS activities

Support IELTS team to deliver IELTS master classes, IELTS Info sessions, pre-tests as well as other business-related activities to IELTS candidates and referral partners.

Provide test day support where required.


Contribute to building a positive work environment within the team based on a shared commitment to IDP’s values and quality and compliance standards

Use awareness of individual strengths and skill gaps to drive personal growth and development

Give honest and constructive feedback on work performance and address any performance issues that may arise

 Essential requirements:

 Excellent understanding, of sales and marketing principles

  • Intense drive to bring in new business
  • Capacity for innovative thinking in assessing opportunities for change
  • High level interpersonal skills.
  • Customer focussed, with a passion for providing outstanding service.
  • Demonstrated ability to make decisions and act with integrity
  • Good written, verbal and presentation skills to communicate effectively with stakeholders at all levels.

 Desirable requirements (leadership & team/project capabilities):

  • Familiarity with the higher education/international education sector or English language teaching sector
  • Ability to adapt power point presentation according to different audience
  • Conversational in Mandarin Chinese Language (Optional)
