Responsibilities:

Senior/ Finance Executive will be primarily responsible for performing financial reporting, business analysis and general operational accounting for the IDP Education Limited Malaysia Branch.

Financial Reporting & Analysis Financial Reporting & Analysis

• Supporting Finance Manager on annual budgeting exercise;
• Supporting Finance Manager on monthly forecast;
• Retrieve, analyse and report financial and non-financial (e.g. sales or headcount) data required by business partners for effective decision making;
• Support Finance Manager in assessment of financial and risk (including compliance) aspects of ad-hoc projects in terms of return on investment and costing.

Accounting Operations Accounting Operations

• Supporting Finance Manager on daily finance operations for IDP Malaysia;
• Review operationally approved expenditure and execute payment in accordance with company, supplier contract and bank policy;
• Timely accounting review of approved invoices in system;
• Provide timely guidance to operations in reconciliation of local payments received against system receipts;
• Maintenance of banking relationships and operations;
• Continuously drive process improvement – as team player or sole contributor- streamlining/automating internal processes to enhance efficiency or implementing electronic payment options with operations to enhance customer experience;
• Review of cash receipts and refund process;
• Supporting Finance Manager on financial month end close process for Malaysia operations cost centre, and co-operating with shared services regarding global executives cost centre, by reviewing monthly transactions, and providing input to shared services for corrections and/or creating month end journals e.g. accruals, write-offs;
• Supporting Finance Manager in preparation of all tax compliances and financial statements for Malaysia. Collaborating as appropriate with internal stakeholders shared services and HQ , as well as external consultants;
• Undertake any other ad-hoc finance duties as directed by the Manager.

Requirements:

• Degree in Banking & Finance/ Accounting/ related fields
• At least 2-3 years in related working experience.
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skill. Able to work independently yet a great team player.
• Detail-oriented.
