The Academic Counsellor is responsible for providing information, advices and support, and processing applications for international students seeking placement in the UK or US and Canada education institutions. The position is also responsible for directly promoting IDP products and services to students to finalise and achieve revenue target.

Key Responsibilities;

•          Achieve sales revenue target

•          Deliver high quality service, meeting student needs.

•          Ability to maintain, develop and strengthen partnerships inside or outside IDP

•         Working cooperatively across cultures and organisational boundaries.



Sales Achievement

  • Provide information and advice to both Thai and International Students, and their families, regarding study opportunities in the UK or US and Canada

  • Effectively maintain and manage up-to-date leads (potential students) and applications pipelines to maximise conversion

  • Submit applications to institutions, obtain offers and facilitate enrolments

  • Follow up leads and enquiries and maximise the number of applications submitted and finalised with IDP

  • Provide opportunities for cross-selling between IDP’s services from Student Placement, IELTS and IDP English.

Technical and Professional Competence

  • Possess high level of product knowledge and competency in using CRM for managing student cases and running performance reports. Ensure accuracy in data entry and management

  • Maintain excellent knowledge of student visa conditions and client programs and processes

Customer Service Orientation

  • Attend to student face-to-face, phone and email enquiries in a timely and professional manner

  • Follow through on student enquiries, requests or complaints and provide information and assistance as required

  • Manage in-house interview sessions where students can meet institutions representatives to submit applications on the spot

Interactions and Team Work

  • Support marketing team for promoting of events such as Interview Programs and a series of exhibitions throughout the year

  • Assist the promotion and student bookings of excursions and cultural events

  • Share knowledge and market information with colleagues who may find it useful

  • Maintain and update generic IDP and institutional information materials

  • Provide input on marketing activities to promote IDP brand and services and work with Marketing Coordinator to coordinate the advertisements on community newspapers and websites



  • Suitable business degree qualification, with 2-5 years’ experience in commercial sector, preferably with MNC in education industry
  • Solid knowledge of local and the UK or US and Canada education systems
  • Excellent written, verbal and presentation skills to communicate effectively in both Thai and English
  • Prior knowledge of the UK or US and Canada education as a product and awareness of Student Placement operations is an advantage
  • Possess an ability to work and operate in a team environment with minimum supervision to meet targets and deadlines
