A rare opportunity has arisen to join our global in-house corporate development team. Working closely with our CEO, the board and executive committee, the team develops and executes corporate strategic and transactional projects, and leads key transformation initiatives that will shape the future of the company. These include business and operational improvement programmes, as well as opportunities to build the network through mergers and acquisitions.
From our global headquarters in CBD Melbourne, Australia, the team’s remit covers strategic development projects worldwide that will have significant and ongoing impact across our entire network and partners.
This role is responsible for strategic planning, financial model building, business analysis, competition review and M&A analysis. Key responsibilities include but are not limited to:
- Undertaking industry and business research/analysis of market opportunities
- Identifying and evaluating product extensions and vertical integrations
- Developing effective strategies for the integration of organic and inorganic targets into the company, including participation in business reviews, negotiations and programme management
- Assist with the preparation of IDP’s Annual Strategic Plan, including detailed market analysis, competition review, performance reviews, trends and forecasting
- M&A assessments, including developing, managing and reviewing detailed financial models as well as using other data and research models to facilitate robust decision-making
- Production of reports and presentations for the board and executive levels, and supporting any potential investor relations communications as appropriate
WHAT WE'RE LOOKING FOR
To be successful in this role you will be need to be excellent at building relationships, with the ability to operate comfortably and be credible with key stakeholders, both internally and externally. Ideally you will have a background in strategy consulting, M&A or corporate development, which means you are highly skilled in financial analysis and project management skills. You will also be well-versed in crafting creative solutions for your stakeholders and be a compelling and effective negotiator and communicator.
Specifically, you'll likely have a business, economics or science degree but we will consider other disciplines if you are able to demonstrate your capacity for creative strategic thinking that makes an impact.
