Administrative Assistant I
Work Location: Houston, TX

Job Summary/Description
Impacts department efficiency and productivity. Performs complex administrative and secretarial duties requiring judgment within general guidelines. Provides secretarial and clerical support for day-to-day operations in department or division office. Monitors office supply and inventory; Prepares purchase requisitions as required for the procurement of items needed and requested by Staff in accordance with the Institutions purchasing guidelines. Update department trackers for each office and Faculty expenditure. Provides time keeping assistance. Coordinates Travel arrangements and expense reimbursements. Serves as the receptionist for the department; Greets and directs guests upon arrival when needed. This is a part-time position; 20 hours per week

Minimum Qualifications
• High school graduate or equivalent.
• Specialized training in secretarial skills such as word processing and business.
• Prefer: Associate or Bachelor’s degree.
• Require: Four years secretarial experience
• Prefer: Experience working in an academic hospital environment supporting faculty or trainees
