LPN (Referral Management Center)
Work Location: Honolulu, HI

We are currently seeking a Licensed Practical Nurse to provide Utilization Management support in the Referral Management Center. In this position, you will review referrals for accuracy, completeness, and clinical appropriateness. Job Duties/Responsibilities
• Validate requested medical service and authorize surgery, medical procedures, laboratory, radiology, etc.
• Schedule referral appointments and provide details to patients, including pre-appointment instructions.
• Contact patients in event referral requests are invalid or rejected.
• Obtain pertinent information from patients/callers, referrals, physician, or other officials.
• Track referral reports and ensure that results from other providers are returned to the referring provider.
• Perform other duties as assigned.

Qualifications
• License: Current, unrestricted license to practice Nursing in accordance with State Board requirements.
• Education: Associate of Science in Nursing from an approved National League of Nursing program.
• Experience: Six (6) years’ clinical nursing experience. Experience in Utilization Management not required.
• Full-time employment in nursing field within last 36 months, mandatory.
• Equivalent combinations of education and experience may be accepted.

Knowledge/Skills
• Knowledge, skills, and computer literacy to interpret/apply medical care criteria.
• Working knowledge of APGs, DRGs, ICD, and CPT-4 coding.
• Excellent oral and written communication skills.
• Strong interpersonal skills.
