A leading biotechnology company is seeking a System Engineer. The successful candidate will design and execute experiments on our sequencing platform and will help develop and analyze microfluidic device surfaces, interfaces, and processes.

System Engineer Responsibilities:

  • Accurately and consistently execute and record experimental method, materials, and results.
  • Become an expert on the operation of the High Throughput Sequencing Platform.
  • Design, implement, and analyze sequencing results of various microfluidic device process changes and various operating parameters.
  • Debug instrumentation, device, and software issues to create a robust platform.

System Engineer Qualifications:

  • 1-5 years of applicable industry experience.
  • 2+ years of experience is preferred.
  • B.S. in bioengineering, electrical or mechanical engineering, chemical engineering, statistics, or a related discipline with a background in molecular biology, biochemistry, or surface/materials science.
  • Meticulous attention to detail and excellent written and electronic record-keeping skills.
  • Excellent troubleshooting (experimental, instrument, device, software, reagents) and problem-solving skills, along with experimental design experience.
  • Experience with statistical data analysis using JMP or Python is preferred.
  • Python programming experience is preferred.
  • A background in or experience with DNA manipulation techniques, sequencing methodologies, or other wet laboratory instrumentation is preferred.
