A leading technology company is seeking a Materials Coordinator & Optics Assembly Technician to review incoming materials, maintain inventory and assemble components. The company offers a family-oriented culture and environment
Material Coordinator Responsibilities:
- Receive, inspect, and verify incoming materials against purchase orders and specifications
- Maintain accurate inventory records in ERP or inventory management systems
- Issue materials to production and track material usage
- Coordinate with Material Supervisor to resolve shortages, delays, or discrepancies
- Organize and maintain warehouse and storage areas in accordance with safety and quality standards
- Perform cycle counts and support physical inventory audits
- Prepare kits and staging materials for assembly or production jobs
- Ensure proper handling, labeling, and storage of materials
- Support continuous improvement initiatives related to material flow and inventory accuracy
Assembly Optics Technician Responsibilities:
- Assemble optical, mechanical, and opto-mechanical components and subassemblie
- Perform optical alignment, glue bonding, and adjustment using microscopes and precision tools
- Read and interpret engineering drawings and work/SOPs instructions
- Inspect components and assemblies for defects and ensure compliance with specifications
- Document assembly processes, measurements, and test results
- Troubleshoot assembly and alignment issues and collaborate with engineering as needed
- Maintain cleanroom protocols and proper handling of sensitive optical components
- Use measurement and test equipment such as interferometers, power meters, or microscopes
- Support continuous improvement and process optimization efforts
Materials Coordinator & Optics Assembly Technician Qualifications:
- High school diploma and technical training or associate degree preferred
- 6+ years of experience in optical, precision, or electro-mechanical assembly
- 1–3 years of experience in material coordination, inventory control, or warehouse operations
- Familiarity with Oracle systems and basic computer skills
- Ability to lift and move materials as required
- Strong manual dexterity, attention to detail, organizational skills
- Experience working with optics, lenses, lasers, or fiber components (preferred)
- Ability to work in a cleanroom environment and follow strict procedures
- Good documentation and communication, and teamwork skills
