A leading technology company is seeking a Software Quality Engineer to join a team that will help grow their calibration business by ensuring our calibration applications maintain a high standard of quality and usability. Daily tasks will include working with the software developers on test plans for each software release, running the software applications looking for errors during testing, and logging any defects found. The candidate will be working closely with the software developers as well as helping coordinate the efforts of the software QA team to make sure multiple projects are shipped to our customers on time and with a high level of quality.

Quality Engineer Responsibilities:

  • Assist in defining test plan and test criteria with the software development team.
  • Execute test plans created in conjunction with the development team.
  • Validate results, submit defects as needed, and verify resolved defects.
  • Escalate technical, material, and logistical issues appropriately for resolution.
  • Communicate status of testing, progress of work completed, and priority of future work.
  • Provide input to improve QA processes to enhance productivity and quality.
  • Schedule work, prioritize activities, and manage time effectively.
  • Manage test equipment and accessories library to make sure the entire team can be effective.

Quality Engineer Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, or Electrical Engineering
  • Be a team player, have good communications skills; both written and verbal.
  • Possess a high attention to detail.
  • Ability to methodically troubleshoot issues.
  • Strong PC skills with Microsoft Windows and Microsoft Office applications.
  • Experience using measurement equipment including signal sources, spectrum analyzers, power meters, etc.
  • Proactive self-starter willing to juggle multiple tasks, learn new skills, and has the drive to make a difference.
  • Past software QA experience is a plus.
