Associate Director, Advanced Analytics and Data Science 

We are a leading satellite radio company looking for a temporary Associate Director, Advanced Analytics and Data Science to join our analytics, research & insight team. For this full-time temporary position, we seek a person that combines strong programming, data management and statistical skills with strategic thinking, intellectual tenacity and the ability to translate complex concepts into impactful insights and visualizations. In this role, you will lead advanced analytics projects that drive growth in subscriber and revenue for SXM through Statistical Testing (Randomized Control Test) and Statistical Modeling. You will work closely with a team of data scientists and big data engineers, and play a key role in developing and delivering the next generation of advanced analytics and machine learning solutions to the business.

Associate Director Pay and Benefits:

  • Hourly pay: $60/hr
  • Worksite: Leading broadcasting and satellite radio company (Remote, Preference for candidates local to Washington DC and New York City)

Associate Director Responsibilities:

  • Partner with marketing teams (from Acquisition to Retention and Winback) to design tests and provide statistical evaluation of results.
  • Ensure that all test populations are unbiased and being setup with proper statistical rigor.
  • Lead advanced analytic projects and deliver innovative technical solutions to solve problems and improve business outcomes.
  • Prepare presentations and clearly communicate findings from initiatives to senior management and to the broader organization.
  • Lead the design and development of machine learning/statistical models and ensure rigorous validation procedures and best performance.
  • Assist engagement with key business stakeholders in discussion on business strategies and opportunities.
  • Build strong working relationships and develop deep partnership with the business.
  • Execute sophisticated quantitative analyses and advanced modeling that translates data from multiple sources and of multiple varieties into actionable insights.

Associate Director Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s or Master's degree in data science, computer science, statistics, operations research, engineering, mathematics, economics, physics, or a related quantitative field.
  • Strong prior experience in Experimental Design and Statistical Testing
  • 5-7 years of experience working in data analytics capacity (testing, modeling, analysis)
  • Experience working with SQL, Python, JMP, Tableau
  • Relational database experience
  • Fluency in MS Excel, PowerPoint
  • Strong knowledge of databases and related languages/tools such as Teradata and Vertica SQL
  • Programming skills in Python 
  • Statistical Modeling/Machine Learning Algorithms
  • Thorough knowledge of MS-Office Suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint)
  • Good public speaking and presentation skills
  • Interpersonal skills and ability to interact and work with staff at all levels
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills
  • Ability to work independently and in a team environment
  • Ability to pay attention to details and be organized
  • Ability to project professionalism over the phone and in person
  • Ability to handle multiple tasks in a fast-paced environment
  • Commitment to “internal client” and customer service principles
  • Willingness to take initiative and to follow through on projects

Job Type: 

  • 40 hours/week, 6 month assignment
