Job Summary/Description
The Sr. Administrative Assistant (AA) will be supporting a renowned faculty member in the research field. The faculty member has their own lab and known for discovering a microbiome that isolates a gene that slows the progression of melanoma. The faculty member is published and in the media. The faculty member receives constant requests for interviews, meetings, speeches, etc. and has a heavy travel schedule. We need someone that can be creative and get the work done. We are looking for the right candidate that can work with hosts to make sure they’re clear about what’s being covered when the faculty member travels. The Sr. Administrative Assistant will be shown how to accomplish tasks once/twice and then the AA must execute. The AA must possess a positive, aggressive, but firm ability to tell faculty when the faculty member is over-booked. Challenges for this position is managing the high amount of travel and reimbursement as well as managing faculty member’s calendar.

Minimum Qualifications
• Bachelor’s degree preferred
• Several years’ experience as an administrative assistant for executives
• Knowledge of bio sketch, grants and experience in gathering letters of support
• Must pay attention to grammatical details
• Knowledge of FIS (financial software) is preferred but will train
• Knowledge of Concur (travel software) is preferred but will train
• Must have heavy Outlook calendaring experience
• Must have knowledge in reconciliation of accounts (research accounts)
