Job Description

InGenesis is currently seeking an Occupational Medicine Physician to work remotely with our client located in Ames, IA. In this role, you will direct the occupational health program and for the provision of occupational medicine services in support of the occupational health clinic at the National Centers for Animal Health.

Must be available from 6:00 am to 6:00 pm, Monday to Friday, to provide telephonic medical consultation services as requested by the COR (or their designated authority).

Job Duties

  • Provides focus on occupational medicine that shall direct, manage, oversee, conduct, and guide on all aspects of the NCAH Occupational Health Program.
  • Responsible for maintaining awareness of the hazards present in the facility, creating and updating medical protocols appropriate to job hazards and medical surveillance.
  • Creates and updates medical protocols for first aid and emergency management procedures.
  • Creates and updates medical protocols for wellness initiatives and activities
  • Creates and periodically reviews the NCAH Occupational Health Plan (Standard OH&S SOP).
  • Provides medical recommendations on occupational health services, policies, and procedures as requested.
  • Provides verbal recommendations and/or advice for cases presented under consultation and provides a written statement or opinion to the USDA within 24 hours of consultation.
  • Provides other medical consultation and support services as needed.


Minimum Qualifications

  • Doctor of Medicine, Doctor of Osteopathic Medicine, or equivalent degree from a school in the United States or Canada accredited by the Council on Medical Education of the American Medical Association, Association of American Medical Colleges, Liaison Committee on Medical Education, Commission on Osteopathic College Accreditation of the American Osteopathic Association, or an accrediting body recognized by the U.S. Department of Education at the time the degree was obtained.
  • Experienced with specialized education and training is required to meet the established performance period.
  • Current, active, full, and unrestricted license to practice medicine or surgery in the state of Iowa.
  • Board-certified by an American Board of Medical Specialties (ABMS) member board in their respective medical specialty. Alternatively, board-certification by the American Board of Internal Medicine in any subspecialty is also acceptable.
  • Must be proficient in written and spoken English.
