Job Description



We are currently seeking qualified Medical Records Technicians to provide full-time services at our Immigration and Customs Enforcement (ICE) facility in Taylor, TX.  This is a non-direct patient care position with no direct contact with detainees but will still need current BLS certification and up to date immunizations.




•Maintain the medical record systems in accordance with facility policy, procedures, and regulatory requirements

•Assist management in planning, collecting, and analyzing individual patient information

•Screen telephone calls and make appropriate referrals to clinical staff

•Maintain the electronic and/or manual appointment system for patients and clinical staff

•Review all routine forms for accuracy and completeness

•Perform data entry into various data collection systems using Excel, Word, and other computer programs




•Knowledge of the basic principles of standard medical records procedures, methods, and requirements

•Knowledge of medical terminology

•Knowledge of the confidentiality of medical records (HIPPA)

•Ability to manage a high volume of medical records daily

•Proficiency with Microsoft Word, Excel, and Outlook applications as well as Adobe Acrobat

•Must maintain a current BLS certification through the American Heart Association

•Must have a minimum one full year of experience working in a healthcare setting with medical record processes





•Must be able to function in a fast-paced environment

•Must be able to life and carry up to 30 lbs.
