We are currently seeking a Manager, Credentialing to join our team. In this role, you will be responsible for overseeing the day-to-day operations of the credentialing function, ensuring the accurate and timely primary source verification of position-specific credentials. This role manages staff and processes associated with full-cycle credentialing, including workload distribution, quality assurance, compliance adherence, training, and issue resolution.
The Manager plays a key role in maintaining operational efficiency, supporting onboarding timelines, and ensuring that credentialing activities align with organizational standards and regulatory requirements. Success in this role is measured by the team’s ability to meet established service level agreements (SLAs), maintain data accuracy, and support timely workforce deployment that contributes to overall organizational performance.
Job Responsibilities
- Oversee daily credentialing operations, ensuring timely and accurate completion of primary source verification and documentation.
- Ensure credentialing processes comply with organizational policies, industry standards, and applicable state and federal regulatory requirements (including Joint Commission standards, where applicable).
- Manage and support credentialing staff, including hiring, onboarding, training, coaching, and performance management.
- Monitor workload distribution and team productivity to ensure alignment with service level expectations and operational priorities.
- Conduct quality assurance reviews to ensure accuracy, completeness, and compliance of credentialing files and system entries.
- Serve as an escalation point for complex credentialing issues, collaborating with internal stakeholders (HR, Compliance, Operations, and Program teams) to resolve concerns.
- Identify process improvement opportunities and implement solutions to enhance efficiency, accuracy, and turnaround times.
- Support reporting and tracking of credentialing metrics, including turnaround times, audit results, and compliance indicators.
- Maintain proficiency in credentialing systems and ensure accurate data entry and recordkeeping within credentialing databases.
- Assist in the development, implementation, and continuous improvement of credentialing policies, procedures, and workflows.
- Perform other duties as assigned to support departmental and organizational needs.
Minimum Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree from an accredited college or university, or equivalent combination of education and relevant experience.
- Minimum of 2–4 years of credentialing and/or operations experience.
- Minimum of 1–2 years of experience in a supervisory or lead capacity.
- Knowledge of credentialing standards, including state and federal regulatory requirements and accreditation standards (e.g., Joint Commission).
- Strong organizational and time management skills, with the ability to prioritize and manage multiple tasks in a fast-paced environment.
- Demonstrated ability to lead a team, provide coaching, and drive performance outcomes.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
- Strong attention to detail and commitment to accuracy and compliance.
- Proficiency in credentialing systems, databases, and Microsoft Office applications (Word, Excel, Outlook).
Physical Requirements
- Frequently required to operate a computer and review, input, and retrieve information.
- May involve sitting, standing, walking, reaching, and occasional lifting or carrying of light materials.
