Information Technology Services Specialist

A successful and established Workforce Solutions Company is accepting applications for Information Technology Services Specialist to provide services at one of the University of Texas Systems facilities in the Permian Basin area.  The work involves providing customer support for agency information technology systems and operating automated office equipment in a stand-alone, network, or mainframe environment. The position provides an opportunity to network within the University of Texas employment system.

Qualifications:  High School diploma or its equivalency, advanced degree preferred.  Three years of experience providing IT technical support troubleshooting PC hardware and software issues.  Possesses a thorough understanding of technology solutions, and the ability to efficiently implement advanced technologies. Customer service focused and have superior communication skills in order to interact with employees, clients, and colleagues effectively at all levels of the organization. Ability to successfully pass a criminal background check.


  • Responsible for providing IT technical support to students, faculty, and staff regarding computer hardware and software, Diagnose and resolve technical hardware and software issues, provides prompt resolution of service requests and problem reports and the configuration and deployment of new computer equipment. 
  • Coordinates the purchase and inventory of computer related equipment and software.
  • Provides assistance in performing analysis, testing systems and developing information services standards or procedures. Writes and updates user documentation. Provides interface between other departmental groups and the campus community.  Maintains an inventory of supplies and tools, reorders as necessary.
  • Other duties as assigned.



  • Physically able to walk, bend, stoop, stretch, grasp, push and pull and lift objects up to 50 pounds, any item over 50 pounds would require incumbent to request assistance.
  • While performing required job tasks, physically able to remain seated or standing, frequently to continuously.
  • Possesses dexterity abilities required to perform typing, operate a computer and other office equipment, to perform filing, and related job responsibilities.
  • Work is normally performed in a typical interior/office work environment. Have manual dexterity of fingers and hands to operate a keyboard as well as ability to operate tools such as a screwdriver, pliers, etc.
