Credentialing Lead/Supervisor - (13324)

Job Description

We are currently seeking a Credentialing Lead/Supervisor to join our team. In this role, you will support the day-to-day operations of the credentialing function by overseeing workflow coordination, ensuring timely primary source verification, and maintaining compliance with organizational and regulatory standards.

This role serves as a subject matter expert and first-level escalation point for the credentialing team, providing guidance, training, and quality oversight while supporting leadership in meeting service level agreements (SLAs) and onboarding timelines.

The position may include limited supervisory responsibilities, including task delegation, coaching, and assisting with performance monitoring.


Job Responsibilities

  • Coordinate daily credentialing workflows to ensure timely completion of primary source verification and file processing.
  • Perform and support credentialing activities, including verification of licenses, certifications, education, and employment history.
  • Serve as a subject matter expert for credentialing processes, systems, and compliance requirements.
  • Act as the first point of escalation for complex or high-priority credentialing issues.
  • Conduct quality assurance reviews to ensure accuracy, completeness, and compliance of credentialing files.
  • Assist in training, onboarding, and mentoring new credentialing staff.
  • Support workload balancing across the team to meet operational deadlines and SLAs.
  • Monitor and track credentialing metrics, including turnaround times and error rates, and escalate risks as needed.
  • Collaborate with internal teams (HR, Compliance, Operations, and Program teams) to resolve credentialing-related issues.
  • Maintain accurate and up-to-date records within credentialing systems and databases.
  • Assist leadership with process improvements and implementation of best practices.
  • Perform other duties as assigned to support departmental and organizational needs.

Minimum Qualifications

  • Associate’s or Bachelor’s degree in a related field preferred
  • 2–4 years of credentialing experience or related healthcare operations experience.
  • Prior experience serving as a lead, senior specialist, or informal team mentor preferred.
  • Working knowledge of credentialing standards, including state and federal regulations and accreditation requirements (e.g., Joint Commission).
  • Strong attention to detail and ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment.
  • Excellent organizational, problem-solving, and communication skills.
  • Ability to guide and support team members while maintaining productivity.
  • Proficiency in credentialing systems and Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, Outlook).

Physical Requirements

  • Frequently required to operate a computer and review, input, and retrieve information.
  • May involve sitting, standing, walking, and occasional lifting of light materials.
