Position Summary:
The Bookkeeper/Staff Accountant is responsible for managing day-to-day accounting operations, including Accounts Payable, Accounts Receivable, Payroll, and General Ledger activities. This role supports management in the preparation of financial statements and monthly reporting, while ensuring accurate cash management and strong client/vendor relationships.
Key Responsibilities:
Manage full-cycle Accounts Payable, including invoice processing, approvals, and vendor payments
Oversee Accounts Receivable, including invoicing, collections, and franchisee communication
Coordinate and process payroll, ensuring accuracy and compliance with applicable regulations
Maintain and reconcile general ledger accounts and assist with month-end close
Support preparation of monthly financial statements and management reports
Monitor and manage cash flow, including tracking cash balances and coordinating disbursements
Perform bank and credit card reconciliations
Assist with budgeting and forecasting processes as needed
Maintain accurate and organized financial records and documentation
Assist with audits, tax preparation, and other compliance-related activities
Qualifications/Requirements:
Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field (or equivalent experience)
2+ years of experience in bookkeeping or staff accounting roles
Strong understanding of accounting principles (GAAP preferred)
Experience with payroll processing and multi-state considerations is a plus
Proficiency in accounting software (QuickBooks, Bill.com)
Exposure to multi-entity environment and intercompany accounting
Advanced Microsoft Excel skills (pivot tables, formulas, data analysis)
Strong attention to detail and accuracy
Excellent organizational and time management skills
Ability to handle multiple priorities and meet deadlines
Strong communication and interpersonal skills
High level of integrity and ability to handle confidential information
