Job Summary
The Master Esthetician ensures the smooth daily flow of spa operations within the esthetics department. This role focuses on maintaining consistency in service quality, supporting and guiding estheticians, overseeing room readiness, and ensuring clients receive exceptional care in accordance with Connecticut regulations and FACE FOUNDRIÉ standards.
Key Responsibilities
Operational Oversight
Ensure efficient scheduling and client transitions.
Verify that all treatment rooms are properly prepared, sanitized, and stocked before and after each client.
Monitor appointment timing to maintain smooth service flow and minimize delays.
Serve as a point of contact and support for estheticians during their shift to address immediate needs or service-related issues; report to Salon Manager and Director of Esthetics.
Act as a liaison between the Director of Esthetics and estheticians to ensure alignment in service execution, training, and protocol updates.
Support management in coordinating coverage during breaks, absences, or high-volume periods.
Client Experience & Service Quality
Greet and communicate with clients professionally to ensure satisfaction and comfort throughout their visit.
Respond to client concerns in real time and relay feedback to management.
Deliver professional skincare and beauty treatments, including customized facials, chemical peels, lash lifts, brow shaping/tinting, and other non-medical esthetic services within state scope of practice.
Ensure that service standards, protocols, and client confidentiality are upheld at all times.
Provide mentorship and feedback to estheticians to support consistency and excellence in client care.
Compliance & Sanitation
Enforce spa sanitation protocols, equipment sterilization, and state-required safety standards.
Verify that estheticians maintain proper sanitation and PPE practices.
Monitor compliance with Connecticut esthetics regulations and FACE FOUNDRIÉ policies.
Report maintenance or supply issues to management promptly.
Product & Inventory Support
Track and communicate product or supply needs to management.
Assist in maintaining an organized back bar and treatment room stock.
Ensure proper product usage and labeling consistent with safety and brand guidelines.
Team Support & Communication
Serve as a liaison between estheticians and management to maintain clear communication and uninterrupted workflow.
Act as a guide and mentor to estheticians by providing hands-on training, feedback, and support in treatment execution and service quality.
Participate in team meetings to share client insights, product feedback, or operational improvements.
Foster a supportive and professional atmosphere within the esthetics team.
Qualifications
Valid Connecticut Esthetician License (active and in good standing).
Minimum 3–4 years of hands-on esthetic experience in a spa or clinical setting.
Strong understanding of facial protocols, brow and lash services, skin analysis, and product knowledge.
Excellent time management and communication skills.
Professional, organized, and able to multitask in a fast-paced environment.
Preferred Skills
Familiarity with spa scheduling and POS software (e.g., BLVD).
Experience in chemical peels, dermaplaning, brow services, lash lifts, or other advanced modalities (within scope).
Knowledge of Connecticut state hygiene and esthetics regulations.
Work Conditions
Requires performing hands-on treatments.
Includes weekends or evenings as needed based on spa schedule.
