Basic computer skills and proficiency working with Microsoft Office software programs. Excellent time management and organizational skills; ability to work well under pressure and adapts quickly to change. Attention to detail and good communication skills. Proficient computer data entry skills Minimum High School Diploma or equivalent.
Performs general office duties such as creation of documents or spreadsheets, fax, copy, and reports. This material is usually of a technical nature because of the scientific terminology used. Works in a Laboratory Information Management System (LIMS) database in performing duties such as data inputting of all demographic information, faxing out request for information letters, daily monitoring the fax error and attachment log to ensure accuracy of patient information on laboratory reports. Responsible for the completeness and accuracy of the data from the laboratory submission paperwork submitted with laboratory specimens to ensure patient safety. Scan laboratory submission paperwork for the documentation storage in LIMS and works with scanning software to ensure that patient information is accurate. Provides customer service via telephone or email inquiries to public health internal and external partners to ensure the flow of information and from clinical laboratory personnel, public health staff, and private physicians concerning laboratory test reports
