Director of Local Marketing
Reports to: CRO
Direct Reports: 3 (Local Marketing Team)
Position Overview
The Director of Local Marketing is responsible for driving measurable growth across both franchise and corporate-owned locations, with a focus on year-over-year (YoY) same store sales, strong franchise openings, and impactful, scalable marketing resources. This role oversees all marketing efforts for 5 corporate stores and supports 60+ franchise locations nationwide, ensuring local marketing programs are aligned with brand standards while tailored to each market’s unique needs. The Director will lead a team of three, collaborate with cross-functional departments, and work closely with franchise owners to execute results-driven campaigns.
Key Responsibilities
Strategic Leadership
Develop and execute annual local marketing strategies that drive YoY growth in same store sales for both corporate and franchise locations.
Build and implement scalable marketing programs, toolkits, and campaigns to support franchise openings and ongoing operations.
Oversee the creation of market-specific marketing plans for corporate stores and support franchisees in creating their own, ensuring alignment with national brand direction.
Franchisee Support & Growth
Partner with franchisees to assess local market needs and opportunities, providing strategic recommendations and resources.
Lead marketing efforts for all franchise openings, from pre-opening campaigns to post-launch momentum strategies.
Develop and deliver training and resources that empower franchisees to effectively execute local marketing initiatives.
Corporate Store Marketing
Own marketing strategy and assist with execution for 5 corporate stores, ensuring consistent brand presence and targeted local engagement.
Monitor and analyze corporate store performance data, adjusting campaigns as needed to maximize ROI.
Team Management
Lead, mentor, and develop a team of 3 high-performing marketing professionals, fostering a collaborative and high-performance culture.
Set clear KPIs and goals for the team, ensuring accountability and continuous improvement.
Performance & Reporting
Establish and track KPIs for local marketing campaigns, reporting regularly on performance to leadership.
Analyze sales, traffic, and engagement data to identify trends, opportunities, and areas for improvement.
Collaborate with finance and operations to ensure marketing strategies align with broader business goals.
Qualifications
7+ years of marketing experience, with at least 3 years in a multi-unit retail, hospitality, or franchise environment.
Proven success in driving YoY sales growth and managing marketing for both corporate-owned and franchise locations.
Strong understanding of local marketing channels, including digital, social, grassroots, and event marketing.
Experience leading and developing high-performing teams.
Exceptional communication, presentation, and relationship-building skills.
Data-driven mindset with strong analytical skills and comfort working with performance metrics.
