Purpose of Position:

The purpose of the System Specialist role is to effectively deliver competency training and value education to all relevant stakeholders for Hexagon’s Underground products, systems, and services. Providing customers with ongoing and proactive technical support and advice through regular communication and system oversight, while maintaining high product, safety, environmental, and quality standards.

Major Areas of Responsibility:

  • Provide product and service implementation, competency training, and value education to stakeholders, face-to-face and remotely.
  • Provide customers with ongoing and proactive technical support and advice through regular communication and system oversight
  • Provide technical support/guidance to other Hexagon business units/teams. Work with engineering and development teams to scope, test, and launch new products and features.
  • Maintain, enhance, and adhere to Hexagon and client documentation and reporting standards, systems, processes, policies, and procedures, participating in audits when required.
  • Perform quality assurance and quality control checks on products before they are assigned and delivered to site. present recommendations for continuous improvements and modifications, actioning them as necessary.
  • Stay up to date with the latest iterations of Hexagon’s mining technology products and how they can be integrated to solve customer’s challenges.
  • Always represent Hexagon Mining in a helpful, professional, and courteous manner, promoting their brand and upselling products and services where possible.

Knowledge:

  • Experience in the underground, hard rock mining industry (critical).
  • Experience in the mining equipment, technology, and services industry (critical).
  • Previous experience working remote teams (Highly Desirable)
  • A minimum of 1 year of experience in a Mining environment (Highly Desirable)
  • Experience working with technology.
  • Experience working in an office or corporate environment.
  • 1-3-years’ experience in similar role (preferred, but not essential.

Skills:

  • Fluency in English.
  • Exceptional interpersonal skills and the ability to work within diverse environments.
  • Microsoft Office package – intermediate.
  • high levels of written, oral and e-communications skills.
  • High level of planning, organisational and self-management skills
  • Ability to pass background, police check, drug and alcohol screening, and full mine site medical.
  • Ability to coach and passion to see others achieve their full potential.
  • Highly flexible and able to adapt to changing work environment and demographics.
  • Ability to work in a dynamic team.
  • Empathy and experience in engaging with people who are afraid or intimidated by technology.
  • Enthusiastic in nature, positive focus, optimistic.
  • Motivated to take on a continuous learning journey.

Travel:

  • At Hexagon Mining, we understand the value of firsthand experience, and we believe that travel is an essential part of providing exceptional service to our clients. As such, this role requires an estimated 35% travel per calendar year, for as much as two weeks at a time, giving you the chance to work with clients from around the world and see different parts of the mining industry in action.
  • During your travels, you'll be supported by a range of logistical measures, including travel allowances, accommodation, and meal expenses, so you can focus on providing exceptional customer service and making a real difference for our clients.
