The Position; Reporting to the Software Services & Support Manager within our Technical Service & Support division, we are looking for a Project Engineer to join our software team.
This position will see you responsible for overseeing our Safety Portfolio through providing project delivery services and remote technical assistance to a growing range of clients in the Asia-Pacific region.
The Safety Portfolio of products include:
- Collision Avoidance Systems
- Fatigue Management Systems
- Vehicle Intervention Systems
In addition to the following responsibilities.
Technical
- Ensure Hexagon Mining technology systems at customer mine sites operate effectively and deliver tangible value to our customers mining operations \
- Deploy and upgrade Systems and work closely with our project managers for a successful delivery outcome
- Assist with installation, commissioning and supporting of Hexagon Safety technology from the office and on site in remote locations
Operational
- Partner with customers to provide technical support to resolve technical issues on Hexagon technology systems at customer mine sites
- Maintain, enhance and adhere to Hexagon Mining documentation and reporting standards, systems and processes
- Compliance with Hexagon Mining’s Workplace Health and Safety policies and procedures (and those of clients’ sites visited), participation in audits and compliance with instructions given in respect to the health and oneself and the safety of others
Customer Service
- Providing training to operators and other customer personnel in the use and operation of systems at client sites through workshop facilitation, as well as be available for afterhours on call support for critical issues
- Maintain and uphold Hexagon Customer service standard, both internally and externally
- Provide operational reporting to clients on deployed solutions, providing improvement or recommendations to drive value enhancement for their operations
Travel
This opportunity may require both local and interstate travel, to our customer sites. All flights, accommodation and amenities will be provided by Hexagon. About you
We are looking for an experienced Product/Project Engineer with a Mechatronic/Electronics/Software disciple, experienced working within mine production/safety systems. In addition, we are seeking those with the following qualifications and skills;
Technical
- Tertiary Qualifications in Software/Mechatronics or Electronics Engineering, computer science or related fields,
- Prior experience within mining, ideally across Fleet Management Systems/safety system product suites
- Experience with Linux OS and shell scripting
- Knowledge of C++ OR Objective-C programming languages
- Experience with relational (PostgreSQL, Microsoft SQL Server) or NoSQL databases (MongoDB)
- Experience working in the mining industry. Global experience desirable.
