Football Offensive Assistant Coach

Job Description

A key member of the coaching staff responsible for developing and recruiting players on offense to achieve team goals. This individual will work closely with the Offensive Coordinator to cultivate a strong and effective offense, focusing on player development, tactical planning, and game-day execution. The Offensive Assistant Coach will contribute to fostering a positive team culture and promoting excellence both on and off the field. This position will start 7/1/2024.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Develop and implement comprehensive offensive game plans in collaboration with the Offensive Coordinator.
  • Analyze opponents' defensive strategies and tendencies to create effective counter-strategies.
  • Stay current with football trends, innovative offense schemes, and new coaching techniques and technologies.
  • Provide individualized coaching and skill development for players.
  • Conduct regular film study sessions to enhance players' understanding of opponents and improve decision-making on the field.
  • Implement drills and practice routines that focus on building offensive skills and teamwork.
  • Communicate effectively with players on the field, ensuring they understand their roles and responsibilities.
  • Collaborate with other coaches to make strategic decisions that maximize the team's overall performance.
  • Assist in the recruitment of talented offensive players, evaluating their skills and potential fit within the team.
  • Establish and maintain relationships with high school coaches, scouting networks, and potential recruits.
  • Foster a positive and competitive team culture that emphasizes discipline, accountability, and sportsmanship.

Education, Experience, Skills, and Abilities:

  • Bachelor's degree in a related field (Master's degree preferred).
  • Previous coaching experience at the collegiate or high school level.
  • In-depth knowledge of football offensive strategies and tactics.
  • Strong leadership and communication skills.
  • Ability to analyze and assess player performance.
  • Serve as a mentor and role model for student-athletes, promoting academic success and personal development.
  • Knowledge of NCAA and ODAC rules and regulations, with a commitment to compliance.
  • Commitment to the holistic development of student-athletes, both academically and athletically.
  • Establish strong relationships with others across campus, alumni and the local media to promote the program and its accomplishments
