The Position
Roanoke College seeks applicants join our team to perform general maintenance duties in support of maintaining the campus. This position performs all activities relating to general maintenance and repair, moving, and related general maintenance work on campus. Uniforms provided, free lunch each work day in our cafeteria, and full tuition waiver after one year of service. Hours of work are primarily Monday - Friday, 7:30 a.m. to 4 p.m.
Key Responsibilities:
- Perform or assist in performing general maintenance and repairs throughout campus.
- Assist Plant Manager in preparation of work estimates, and ordering necessary supplies.
- Completes all work assigned in an organized and timely manner.
- Maintain communication with supervisors about work order status.
- Assists with any inclement weather issues that should occur.
- Assist in setting up for and taking down from academic, athletic, and other special events.
- Assist others in moving of furniture, equipment, and any other moving needs as required.
- Does require some weekend work.
- Participate in “on call” service rotation.
Education, Experience, Skills, and Abilities:
- Must have a valid driver’s license
- Maintenance experience required
- Electrical experience a plus
- Maintain a high level of customer satisfaction and service.
- High School diploma or GED required.
- Ability to successfully lead and work with others.
