Supervisor I, Operations

Job Description

Hexagon Autonomous Solutions is seeking a highly skilled and detail-oriented Operations Supervisor to oversee and coordinate multiple operational projects and portfolios to ensure alignment with organisational goals. This role involves monitoring performance metrics, managing resources, and driving process improvements across various operational functions. Key duties include supervising teams (project engineers, technicians, specialists), ensuring compliance with policies, optimizing workflows, and reporting on portfolio performance. Strong leadership, analytical thinking, and problem-solving skills are essential to ensure efficiency, cost-effectiveness, and continuous improvement within the operations portfolio

Major Areas of Responsibility:

  • Provide ongoing leadership, development, and mentorship to the technical support team.
  • Manage and maintain daily and ongoing operational activities.
  • Manage the activities of the technical support team including general direction, site allocation and rostering, professional development, and performance appraisal.
  • Liaise with all relevant stakeholders to effectively coordinate product implementation. Includes coordinating site implementations, employee mobilisation, client communication, and job allocation for the operations team.
  • Monitor the progress and success of product implementations, including assessing stakeholder engagement, value concept understanding, and training completion.
  • Always represent Hexagon Mining in a helpful, professional, and courteous manner, promoting their brand and upselling products and services where possible.
  • Maintain, enhance, and adhere to Hexagon and client documentation and reporting standards, systems, processes, policies, and procedures, participating in audits when required.

Qualifications and desired skills

  • Qualifications:

    • Bachelor of Computing Science, Mine Engineering or other Engineering Discipline (Desirable).
    • Relevant industry and/or project management experience preferred.
  • Knowledge

    • Minimum 5 years’ experience in an operational role.
    • Minimum 3 years in a leadership role.
    • Knowledge of mining, civil and construction industries.
    • Previous experience providing support to management.
    • Previous experience engaging with a range of internal and external stakeholders.
  • Skills:

    • Excellent communication skills – written and verbal.
    • Excellent interpersonal and negotiation skills.
    • High level organisational and time management skills.
    • Microsoft Office suite – intermediate.
    • Ability to pass background, police check, drug and alcohol screening, and full mine site medical.
    • Enthusiastic in nature, positive focus, optimistic.
    • Proactive and autonomous with strong Leadership Skills

Travel

  • Flexible as the successful candidate would be required to sometimes work on weekends, and travel to different sites with many being outside of the country.
  • Candidate must have a current Passport and valid driver’s license, as well as pass a background check.
