Purpose of Position:

Hexagon’s Integrated Machine Systems division is looking for a Mechatronics Engineer to be responsible for the design, development, and sustainment of innovative products and systems that integrate machine controls into our product portfolio across all types of vehicles. You’ll contribute to the design and development of enabling products that serve as a bridge to Hexagons product offerings.

Major Areas of Responsibility:

  • System Design & Architecture
  • Support and enable the Drive-by-wire team
  • Architect solutions that connect multiple device interfaces.
  • Ensure signal integrity and EMI/EMC compliance in mixed-signal environments.
  • Ruggedization & Compliance
  • Design for IP67 ingress protection, extended temperature ranges (-40°C to +85°C), and high-vibration environments.
  • Support environmental and regulatory testing (e.g., ISO 16750, CISPR 25, AEC-Q100).
  • Sustaining & Validation
  • Lead root cause analysis and corrective actions for field issues.
  • Develop and execute validation plans including HIL testing, thermal cycling, and vibration testing.
  • Work closely with mechanical, electrical, software, and systems engineers from concept through production.
  • Support manufacturing and test engineering with DFM/DFT practices.

Knowledge and Experience - Required:

  • Bachelor’s or Master’s in Mechatronics Engineering.
  • 5+ years of experience in embedded hardware design, preferably in mining or rugged environments.
  • Proficiency in Altium Designer or equivalent ECAD tools.
  • Proficiency with Autodesk Solutions.
  • Familiarity with heavy equipment, construction equipment.
  • Experience with Autonomous systems

Travel:

  • Up to 10% Domestic
