Purpose of Position:
To develop and oversee the product strategy and roadmap for the future of MinePlan and the Platform, ensuring the longer-term version supports our short-term goals. This requires a technical focused roadmap and supported by commercial objectives, to bring about the roadmap to support an ageing product. The Senior Product Manager will help coach and elevate the overall data strategy & UX throughout product team, from inception to commercialization, ensuring our offerings meet customer needs and are financially viable. This role is pivotal in driving the modernization of our platform and products, ensuring they meet current and future customer needs while also managing the end-of-life process for aging products. You will work closely with the team to help them manage projects related to current MinePlan products and ensure Resource Optimisation sets the standard in Product Management.
Major Areas of Responsibility:
- MinePlan Platform Product Strategy
- Ensure seamless integration of new and existing products into the platform, enhancing functionality and user experience.
- Champion the design and implementation of intuitive, user-centric interfaces and experiences across all products.
- Develop and execute a roadmap for modernizing the platform and products, leveraging the latest technologies and industry best practices.
- Strategically manage the end-of-life process for aging products, including customer communication, migration plans, and sunsetting timelines.
- Work closely with product management, product development, and design teams to align platform and UX initiatives with overall business goals.
- Continuously seek opportunities to innovate and improve the platform and user experience within our current innovation projects, bring forward cost, but potentially reducing the overall cost.
- Engage with customers, partners, and internal stakeholders to gather feedback and ensure the platform and user experience meet their needs.
- Define and monitor key performance metrics/telemetry to evaluate the current use of our products, with the goal to attempt to digitize the current UX and how to improve.
- Product Management (aligned to Pragmatic)
- Continue to own Projects linked to the Products Strategy as required
- Conduct thorough market research to understand customer needs, market trends, and the competitive landscape.
- Prioritize product features and enhancements based on customer feedback, business value, and technical feasibility.
- Lead cross-functional teams, including product development, design, marketing, sales, and support, to deliver high-quality products.
- Oversee the product development lifecycle from concept to go to market, working closely with the project management office ensuring timely delivery and alignment with the product vision.
- Communicate effectively with stakeholders at all levels, including presenting product plans and progress to senior management.
- Responsible for articulating the user stories and product requirements clearly and concisely. This involves writing detailed functional and non-functional requirements, and working closely with the development team to prioritize and refine these requirements
- Commerical focus through value-based pricing & product revenue opportunities for growth and cost optimization.
- Technical Enablement
- Own the process on collecting, centralizing and making available data (usage date) for Product Managers
- Gather and analyze data across the platform to empower product managers to make data-driven decisions. This includes overseeing (the how) telemetry data, revenue metrics, and market trends are gathered to inform product strategy and development.
- Establish systems for collecting and interpreting platform-wide data that can inform user experience enhancements and product evolution.
- Regularly gather for interpretation, financial and market data to guide product managers in optimizing product performance and market fit.
Knowledge and Experience - Required:
- Domain knowledge within the Mine Planning, Geology and Drill and Blast personas
- Proven experience in product management, particularly in developing and overseeing product strategies and roadmaps.
- Strong technical background with the ability to understand and leverage the latest technologies and industry best practices.
- Excellent data analysis skills, with the ability to gather, interpret, and utilize data to inform product decisions.
- Experience in leading cross-functional teams and managing the product development lifecycle from concept to go-to-market (GTM).
- Strong communication skills, with the ability to articulate product requirements and present plans and progress to senior management.
Knowledge and Experience - Desired:
- Familiarity with the mining industry and knowledge of surface and underground mine challenges.
- Understanding of user experience (UX) design principles and the ability to champion intuitive, user-centric interfaces.
- Experience in managing the end-of-life process for aging products, including customer communication and migration plans.
- Knowledge of value-based pricing and product revenue opportunities for growth and cost optimization.
Travel:
- International and/or Domestic travel is required, up to 25%
