This position is with Hexagon’s Mining division, a global technology leader, and solution provider for surface and underground mine challenges, with proven technologies for planning, operations, and safety.


Purpose of Position:

As a Finance Business Partner supporting the Mining Sector of Hexagon’s Autonomous Solutions Division, you’ll play a pivotal role in supporting our Mining sector business. Your mission? The Finance Business Partner will play a crucial role in driving financial performance and providing strategic insights to support decision-making across the Mining sector business.

Major Areas of Responsibility:

  • Collaborate with Mining EVP and VP Finance, Commercial to develop and manage budgets, forecasts, and financial plans aligned with Strategy.
  • Support the bi-annual MTFP strategy process.
  • Support the quarterly business review process.
  • Partner with cross-functional teams to provide financial insights and guidance on business strategies .
  • Conduct risk assessment and management activities, identifying potential financial risks and developing mitigation strategies.
  • Link R&D to offer launch and P&L impact.
  • Build a cash conversion and recurring revenue culture.
  • In concert with finance operations, develop and maintain financial models to support decision-making and strategic initiatives.
  • Conduct ad-hoc analysis to support key business initiatives and identify areas for improvement.
  • Oversee assigned project portfolios, ensuring successful execution of initiatives.
  • Perform variance analysis and provide explanations for financial performance against budget and forecast.
  • Actively drive cash conversion performance
  • Assist in the preparation of management reports and presentations for senior leadership.\
  • Ensure compliance with financial regulations and internal policies and monitor changes in regulatory requirements.
  • Champion internal controls as per Key Control area.
  • In concert with legal – ensure compliance to sales order contract risk tolerances, anti-competition constraints, fraud and bribery controls and gift and hospitality policies.
  • In concert with Export Control – uphold necessary controls and boundaries as required for controlled goods.
  • In concert with Credit Control – uphold the credit risk tolerances, activity work to improve aged receivables.
  • Champion cybers and physical security, data privacy, data governance, compliance
  • Act as a trusted advisor to finance and commercial leadership teams.
  • Prioritize stakeholder needs and enhance their experience.
  • Build strong relationships with internal and external partners.
  • Ensure alignment between corporate services and stakeholder expectations
  • Provide recommendations for process improvements and efficiencies to enhance financial performance.
  • Environment, Sustainability and Governance (ESG) as required.
  • M&A Pre closing and post close follow up aligned with PMI practices.
  • Key Performance Metrics
    • Laser focused on partnering the business to build sustainable revenue growth, from idea to offer, from brand to order and from quote to cash.
    • Gross margin accountability, in concert with supply chain, to ensure that pricing models reflect market opportunity whilst covering cost. Enable supply chain optimization through excellence in sales forecasting
    • Maintain rigor in engineering and innovation, with projects based on market needs, and customer demand ensuring that lifetime use justifies the investment
    • Build a culture of opex leverage, taking advantage of scale, systems, tools and playbooks to enhance profit through reuse of resources
    • Partner with the various corporate services (quality, HR, IT, Legal & Compliance, Real Estate) teams to ensure customer and employee satisfaction
    • In concert with strategy, support the M&A pipeline from LOI through DD to PMI rigorously applying both commercial and financial logic.

Knowledge and Experience - Required:

  • Educational Qualifications: Bachelor’s degree in finance, Accounting, or STEM field, CPA / CMA or MBA or similar preferred.
  • Minimum 8 years of Experience in progressive finance business partner positions

Knowledge and Experience - Desired:

  • Strategic Vision: The ideal candidate should have a strong strategic mindset, capable of envisioning the future landscape of autonomous solutions. They must be able to define and communicate a clear vision for their area of responsibility’s growth and transformation.
  • Storytelling: The ideal candidate should have a excellent ability to build compelling and easy to understand stories in terms of performance, strategy and outlook. Advanced desktop publishing skills such as PPT, Canva, Tableau required.
  • Industry Expertise: Understanding of the software, hardware, emerging technology landscape in a multi-national preferred.
  • Transformation Leadership: Experience in organizational transformations. Should have a track record of successfully navigating change, optimizing processes, and achieving business outcomes.
  • Business Acumen: Strong business acumen is necessary to make informed decisions, allocate resources effectively, and drive profitability. This includes financial analysis, market insights, and risk management.
  • Collaboration and Influence: Excellent communication, negotiation, and relationship-building skills are vital.
  • Change Management: Ability to navigate complex organizational changes, address resistance, and ensure smooth adoption of new strategies and processes.
  • Technical Understanding: While not necessarily an engineer, the partner should grasp the technical aspects of the Mining sector including Familiarity with mining technologies would be advantageous.
  • Results-Oriented: The partner must be driven by results. Setting measurable goals, tracking progress, and adjusting strategies as needed are critical.
