A leading technology company is seeking a Metrology Technician. The successful candidate will develop, document, and maintain calibration systems, procedures, and methods for electrical, dimensional, optical, physical, mechanical, and environmental inspection, measurement, and test equipment (IM&TE) based on analysis of measurement problems and accuracy and precision requirements. Metrology Technician Responsibilities:

  • Apply measurement science, mathematics, and physics to develop, document, and maintain calibration systems, procedures, and methods.
  • Promote ESD, service note compliance, and other programs that are conducive to the delivery of high-quality service and minimization of re-repair.

Metrology Technician Qualifications:

  • 5+ years of relevant work experience in calibration and repair of Test measurement equipment, or an Associate’s degree in Electronics field, Military experience (PMEL).
  • Prior Experience in a Standards Laboratory environment is highly desired.
  • Direct experience in calibration, adjustments, diagnosis, troubleshooting and repair to the assembly/component level of test and measurement equipment.
  • Software development or experience with software modification process is desired
  • Experience and proficiency with calibration management software (e.g., VEE, Unix RMB, ETMS/Gemini, Windows Office.).
  • Direct experience on HP, Agilent, and instrumentation and automated calibration systems is desired.
  • Knowledge and previous experience with automated Calibration Systems is desired.
  • Solid understanding of Measurement Uncertainty application and calculations, Measurement Guardbanding, and other measurement principles associated with highest level of traceability directly to the National Metrology Institute (NMI).
  • Knowledge of current quality standards for ANSI/ISO 9001, ANSI/Z540-3, and ISO 17025.
  • Adapt to continuously changing technologies with minimal training.
  • Strong abilities in the use of technical manuals and schematics.
  • Strong Computer skills.
  • Knowledge of Six Sigma and Lean.
  • PMEL/Metrology background is desired.
