Job Description

The Roanoke College Data and Integration Specialist develops and maintains data workflows to support data integration throughout campus systems.  They will work closely with the Web Services team to ensure reliable data synchronization from the College’s main ERP system to web applications.   They will be instrumental in assisting users on data reporting, data integration and data management for the College.  They will ensure up-to-date, efficient manageable and secure data system and foster superior quality, efficiency and ongoing reliability of data integrity.    

Key Responsibilities:

  • Oversee and manage data integrations central to our ERP system.  
  • Acquires and abstracts data from existing internal or external data sources and manage those systems that store this data.
  • Develops and maintains various integrations and database workflows using a diverse set of languages and tools.
  • Assist in developing and maintaining the College’s central reporting system
  • Provides regular training to database users.  
  • Provides daily data analysis in the support of data integrity.
  • Establishes and supports new application/services that support the mission of the College.
  • Writes and maintains technical documentation focused on integrations and data mapping.
  • Daily troubleshoots issues reported by clients.
  • Uses effective communication with managers, coworkers and clients.
  • Knows and follows data information security and other college policies
  • Performs other related duties in support of the Information Technology office.

Education, Experience, Skills, and Abilities:

  • Higher Education Experience
  • Experience with enterprise systems
  • Experience with integration workflows
  • Experience with database architecture, management and design
  • Experience with information technology operation with strong understanding of database structures, theories, principles and practices
  • Ability to focus and be productive, work independently and on teams in a fast-paced environment with high level of service, communication and production demands.
  • Provides excellent client service and consulting
  • Solves problems creatively and keeps up-to-date with new technology
  • Adheres to regular attendance
