The Position
Associate Director of Institutional Research, Effectiveness, and Planning: Assessment Coordinator is a 12 month/full-time position. Works with College faculty and staff to design and maintain assessment planning and reporting process for the College’s academic and general education programs. Assists with administrative assessment planning and reporting as necessary. The Associate Director will work in partnership with the Director of Institutional Research, Evaluation, and Planning to handle internal data needs, and will assist with accreditation documents and procedures.
Key Responsibilities:
- Oversees the College plan for academic and administrative assessment. Advises all academic and administrative units in developing, measuring, and analyzing learning and performance outcomes.
- Serves as a clearing house for program assessment reports and for those in general education, honors, and Intensive Learning in partnership with other staff members and supports SACSCOC accreditation and reaccreditation efforts in selected academic programs.
- Coordinates the Program Evaluation Process (PEP) reviews of academic programs, including work with the affected departments/programs, arranging for external evaluators, chairing the panels writing the reports, and doing the follow-up required to ascertain changes made as a result of the process.
- Assist the Director of IREP in maintenance of IREP website and online resources.
- Serves on Data Management and Data Governance committees as needed.
- Designs data collection instruments and assists with conducting surveys to assess both College-wide and departmental goals and objectives.
- Assists with the maintenance of a comprehensive Institutional assessment database and reports on College assessment activities.
- Provides assessment education for faculty and staff by arranging conferences, workshops etc., and maintaining a library of assessment methodology, ideas, and materials.
- Extracts and analyzes college data for on- campus and off- campus audiences.
- With the Director of IREP, conducts institutional research related to College operations to inform the efficiency and effectiveness of College endeavors and guide strategic planning.
- Work with the Director of IREP to create and maintain a center for internal data needs.
- Acts as a Qualtrics administrator.
- Recommends policies and procedures to improve the College’s institutional effectiveness program.
- Performs other duties as required.
Education, Experience, Skills, and Abilities:
- Bachelor’s degree required; Master’s degree preferred.
- Experience with academic program assessment.
- Ability to analyze data, draw reasonable conclusions, and develop strategies based on findings.
- Excellent organizational and project management skills.
- Excellent communication skills, including writing, speaking, and data visualization.
- Attention to detail.
