Job Summary: As the Central Clinical Nurse Coordinator, you are responsible for providing and coordinating assessments, intervention and planning of healthcare for individuals and families in the clinical and community setting. Responsible for case finding and receives referrals from within the agency and community.
Responsibilities:
- Is responsible for any required training for established staff in each clinical department.
- Performs regular rounds to each department daily and as needed
- Acts as a consultant with the staff in each clinical department.
- Ensures each department has everything it needs to help patients, such as adequate supplies and sterilized equipment.
- Performs monthly electronic medical record reviews.
- Acts as a liaison between patients, patient families, and health care professionals.
- Mastermind way to improve the quality of patient care provided by the facility.
- Works to create efficient systems and workflows within the clinical departments.
- Meet with patients and patient families to ensure their needs are being met and resolve any issues or complaints that arise.
- Adheres to Accrediting Body Indicators for compliance.
- Maintains current licensure and knowledge of nursing care requirements for all patients in the department. Assesses need for personal growth and development and takes the initiative in seeking opportunities to meet this need.
- Attends all required safety training programs and can describe his/her responsibilities related to general safety, department/service safety, and specific job-related hazards.
- Follows the BJK People’s Health Center Exposure Control Plans/Blood borne and Airborne Pathogens.
- Follows infection prevention and control procedures. Performs cleaning, disinfection, sterilization of instruments, and high -level disinfection of equipment, where applicable.
Position Requirements:
- Registered Nurse (RN) certification
- Ability to practice in Missouri
- Must possess and maintain current CPR certification
- Minimum of two to four years related experience and/or equivalent combination of education and experience
Preferred Qualifications:
- Demonstrated proficiency in acute care nursing, knowledge and skills
- Self-directing and able to work independently within the broad scope of established clinical policies and practices
- If working in a specialty field, documentation of the skills and certifications must be provided
