Position Overview

The appointed Medical Director will support the implementation and ongoing execution of the Clinical, Quality, and Risk Adjustment Programs across market lines of business.

Key Responsibilities

  • Provide direct patient care in the form of episodic, post-discharge, chronic care management, and annual wellness/comprehensive visits as needed
  • Oversee care plan development of the inter-disciplinary care management team
  • Supervise NP/PAs/RNs including review and approval of their clinical documentation in the electronic medical record, and provide feedback to care plans
  • Perform peer to peers and physician consults with IP and SNF attendings, PCPs, and Subspecialists, as needed, to support the care and health outcomes of patients
  • Educate providers and staff on clinical guidelines and ensure care provided by the clinical team meets best evidence-based practices.
  • Educate providers and staff on appropriate clinical documentation
  • Assists the clinical team in developing and executing clinical management plans, with an emphasis on high-risk and rising-risk patients.
  • Support market provider engagement meetings and market JOCs
  • Engage and support market PCPs across market lines of business [including but not limited to ACO, MA, Medicaid, DUALS, MAP]

General Duties

Shall have following duties:

  • Collaboration: will work closely with Clinical, Clinical Operations and Market Teams to support clinical objectives and duties
  • Knowledge: will provide subject matter expertise to teams to support patient care, health and care program care delivery, and overall clinical outcomes
  • Culture: is accountable for creating a productive, collaborative, safe and inclusive work environment as part of the larger Company.

Required Qualifications

  • Board Certification required
  • Must be licensed to practice medicine in the State(s) designated
  • DEA Required
  • Must possess or meet requirements to obtain a Medicaid number in the State(s)designated State(s)
  • Must possess or meet requirements to obtain a Medicare number in designated State(s)
  • Must be able to work in a fast-paced start up environment
  • Must be able to demonstrate a high level of productivity and effectiveness
  • Must be organized, reliable, and attentive to detail
  • Must be proficient in excel, word and PowerPoint.
  • Must be adept in using Electronic Medical Records.

The working environment and physical requirements of the job include:

In-office work (minimum three days per week) is performed indoors in a traditional office setting with conditioned air, artificial light, and an open workspace.

In this position you will need an to communicate with customers, vendors, management, and other co-workers in person and over devices, sometimes with people who are agitated. Regular use of the telephone and e-mail for communication is essential. Sitting for extended periods is common. Must be able to receive ordinary information and to prepare or inspect documents. Lifting of up to 10 lbs. occasionally may be required. Good manual dexterity for the use of common office equipment such as computer terminals, calculator, copiers, and FAX machines. Good reasoning ability is important. Able to understand and utilize management reports, memos, and other documents to conduct business.
