The Opportunity:
We are seeking to hire a dynamic, self-motivated individual for the role of Director – Value Based Contracts. This role is integral to our company's success as it is majorly responsible for the strategy, negotiation, and management of Value Based Contracts. The ideal candidate is an experienced healthcare professional with a solid understanding of health plan contract language, value-based contracting, the healthcare markets, and clinical models.
Job Responsibilities:
- Develop and implement a strategic plan related to value-based contracts and establish contract rates and terms with payors that align with company strategy.
- Lead the contract negotiation process with existing and potential value-based payors.
- Monitor performance of contracts and suggest adjustments to optimize performance.
- Work closely with internal teams to initiate necessary model changes to current value-based contracts.
- Provide input into the financial analysis and payer performance of existing contracts.
Desired Qualifications:
- At least 10 years of experience in healthcare contracting, with a focus on value-based contracting.
- Previous experience as a Manager at CINQCARE or a similar health-oriented operation.
- Knowledge of healthcare regulatory and legislative issues.
- Advanced negotiation and project management skills.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
Nice-to-haves:
- Master’s degree in healthcare administration, Business Administration, or related field.
- Experience with risk-bearing contracts.
- Knowledge of Medicare and Medicaid regulations.
- Strong financial acumen and analytical skills.
- Experience in managed care settings
The working environment and physical requirements of the job include:
In-office work (minimum three days per week) is performed indoors in a traditional office setting with conditioned air, artificial light, and an open workspace.
In this position you will need an to communicate with customers, vendors, management, and other co-workers in person and over devices, sometimes with people who are agitated. Regular use of the telephone and e-mail for communication is essential. Sitting for extended periods is common. Must be able to receive ordinary information and to prepare or inspect documents. Lifting of up to 10 lbs. occasionally may be required. Good manual dexterity for the use of common office equipment such as computer terminals, calculator, copiers, and FAX machines. Good reasoning ability is important. Able to understand and utilize management reports, memos, and other documents to conduct business.
