Position Overview

The Data Analyst reports to the Senior Director Clinical Informatics to help ensure that health and care providers have the tools and information they need to deliver high-quality services. This position will assist in being responsible for standard and ad-hoc reporting and insights using some or all the following as needed to gain accurate insights: external sources, the company’s data warehouse, EHR, clinical decision support systems, and telemedicine platforms. Key Responsibilities

The Data Analyst will have the following responsibilities:

  • Work closely with the data warehouse team to ensure and maintain the accuracy and completeness of clinical data.
  • Interpret data and draw conclusions on clinical performance, practice performance and financial performance with regards to medical management and quality.
  • Support clinical and practice performance teams to ensure clear data interpretation and performance tracking
  • Help establish protocols for data entry, storage, and retrieval ensuring that patient data is reliable and secure.
  • Leverage data analytics to improve patient outcomes and operational efficiency by analyzing trends in patient care and identifying areas for improvement
  • Develop a data governance methodology to ensure consistent and reliable data management practices
  • Collaborate and proactively communicate with cross-functional stakeholders, providers, administrators, technology services, clinical operations, clinical care, network, and external vendors
  • Provide support to the clinical team ensuring they have the necessary resources, training, and guidance to perform their roles efficiently

General Duties

The Data Analyst should have the following duties:

  • Leadership: The Data Analyst will help in defining and executing strategies and solutions to create business value in working on a team to design, develop, and execute strategies and solutions to deliver desired outcomes.
  • Strategy: The Data Analyst will establish the business strategy and roadmap improved outcomes for members, enhance the efficacy of business divisions, and help develop to deliver external market opportunities for products and services. In assisting to establish the business strategy, the Data Analyst will help define and innovate sustainable revenue models to drive profitability to the company.
  • Collaboration: The Data Analyst will help ensure capabilities form a cohesive offering, including working closely with other business divisions to learn their needs, internalizing their knowledge, and defining solutions to achieve the business objectives.
  • Knowledge: The Data Analyst will provide expertise to help in determining and recommending approaches for solution deployment and performance evaluation.

Required Qualifications

The Data Analyst should have the following qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree in healthcare administration, business administration, finance, or related field
  • Minimum 3 years healthcare informatics experience
  • Understanding of healthcare IT systems, including EHRs clinical decision support systems, and data analytics platforms
  • Proficient with programming languages, database management, and network security
  • Knowledge of clinical workflows and healthcare practices including medical terminology, clinical guidelines, and patient care protocols
  • Analytical skills interpreting data and developing insights to improve patient outcomes and operational efficiency
  • Proficiency in strategic planning, project management methodologies, and tools
  • Effective communication skills including the ability to translate technical information into understandable terms for non-technical audiences
  • Experience developing and delivering user-training programs and technical support guidance

The working environment and physical requirements of the job include:

Work is performed indoors in a setting with conditioned air and artificial light. Travel to and work in offices or other environments is required.

In this position you will need an to communicate with customers, vendors, management, and other co-workers in person and over devices, sometimes with people who are agitated. Regular use of the telephone and e-mail for communication is essential. Sitting for extended periods is common. Must be able to receive ordinary information and to prepare or inspect documents. Lifting of up to 10 lbs. occasionally may be required. Good manual dexterity for the use of common office equipment such as computer terminals, calculator, copiers, and FAX machines. Good reasoning ability is important. Able to understand and utilize management reports, memos, and other documents to conduct business.
