ALM Hopewell Center provides comprehensive mental health services to children and adults in the northern and central parts of the City of St. Louis and North St. Louis City. A professional mental health staff serves a growing caseload of 2,800 patients, of which greater than ninety-five percent are chronically mentally ill and suffering from major psychiatric disorders. Hopewell Center operates a Psychosocial Rehabilitation Center and a Comprehensive Psychiatric Rehabilitation Center for adults and youth.
SUMMARY OF DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
The Outpatient Clinical Manager is responsible for the delivery of clinical services to adults and their families. These services include intake, assessment and treatment planning, psychological and psychiatric evaluations, individual, group and family therapy, case management services, crisis intervention, and medication services. Functions in accordance with the policies of ALM Hopewell Center, state and federal regulation, and within his/her professional code of ethics. Within limits of experience, educational background, and Center time commitments, presents in public forums educational materials to promote community understanding of mental health and enhance community response to mental health problems.
Responsible for management needs such as data collection, program evaluation, development of grant applications, maintenance of contracts for services, etc. Regularly participates in evaluation of self and assigned staff according to Center policies. Responsive to Corporate Compliance and Quality Assurance procedures, cooperates with utilization review procedures, and follows established procedures, rules and regulations of the clinical records department.
Manages the day to day operations of the clinic to include monitoring the flow of admission to ensure clients meet target population and are seen in an appropriate time frame.
Provides ongoing individual and team supervision to the outreach staff, intake staff, case managers, therapists, and medical staff in the OP clinic. In addition, provides supervision to the Medical Records supervisor.
Participates in all re-certification and monitoring activities to include achieving certification with external regulatory bodies.
Organizes/develops in-service training opportunities for staff.
Provides backup assistance to clinical supervisors and direct service staff.
Reviews and develops policies and procedures as they pertain to the Outpatient Clinic and agency needs
Monitors staff productivity and ensures that employees are following all pre-established goals as it pertains to direct service requirements and completion of required documentation.
Ensures that provider personnel and case management schedules are full and being scheduled according to scheduling guidelines to ensure maximum productivity.
Conducts monthly audits of medical records for adherence to compliance standards and all necessary documentation on all aspects of clinical services as related to the individual clients including, but not limited to, the quality of progress notes, appropriate admission documents, assessments, treatment plans, etc.
EDUCATION AND/OR EXPERIENCE:
A Master's degree in Psychology, Social Work, or Counseling with experience in direct clinical services in mental health working with children and families. LCSW or LPC REQUIRED, two years of experience in clinical supervision is required. Experience in community mental health is preferred. Requires excellent clinical assessment, treatment planning, and crisis intervention skills. Must demonstrate knowledge and skills of interpersonal engagement, DSM-V framework, educational skill building, and child protection. Effective oral and written communication skills.
