Creative Expressions Clinical Supervisor

Job Description

A professional mental health staff serves a growing caseload of 2,800 patients, of which greater than ninety-five percent are chronically mentally ill and suffering from major psychiatric disorders. Hopewell Center operates a Psychosocial Rehabilitation Center and a Comprehensive Psychiatric Rehabilitation Center for adults and youth. Many services are provided at schools. Emergency services, including a crisis bed and mobile outreach, are available twenty-four hours per day. A multi-disciplinary team of psychiatrists, psychologists, nurses, counselors, social workers, educators, and support staff work diligently to carry out the mission of providing comprehensive care to patients and their families.

Summary of Duties and Responsibilities:

This position entails the coordination and development of Clinical Based Therapeutic Programming, Creative Expressions Program, and oversight Outpatient therapy pertaining to the development of trauma informed children's services. Models a high degree of professionalism and serves as a mentor to those being supervised.

Primary Duties and Requirements:

Supervises Clinical Staff PLPC, LCSW, ART, MFT; Completes supervisee's performance evaluations, training plans and supervision records.

Maintains a climate which attracts, keeps, and motivates a staff of top-quality people

Responsible for program planning, design, and implementation for clinical services.

Develops/Implements programmatic needs for the Clinical Counseling Program.

Ensures collaboration with other community organizations to include resource development.

Oversee and ensure compliance with all clinical contracts (including reporting) as they pertain to counseling programs in the children's department.

Research and recommend opportunities for mental health services, or other relevant services to meet the needs of the consumers.

Ensures good communication and collaboration with the treatment team for referral and ongoing monitoring of children accepted into clinical programs.

Minimum Education and Experience:

Master's Degree in Counseling, Social Work, Art Therapy or related field from an accredited university. Minimum two years post graduate clinical experience preferable working with behavioral troubled children/adolescents and a background of working with clients, their families, groups, and community-based organization would be essential. Working knowledge of Trauma Focused cognitive behavior and family systems theories are required.

Certification or License required:

Licensed Professional Counselor or Licensed Clinical Social Worker preferred.
