About Us:

BJK Peoples Health Centers is a Certified Community Behavioral Health Organization that provides comprehensive mental health services to children and adults in the northern and central parts of the City of St. Louis and North St. Louis City.

SUMMARY OF DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

This position is for a behavioral health professional working directly with clients to reduce the use of emergency departments and hospitalizations as well as decreasing rates of homelessness, unemployment, and arrests/law enforcement involvement by engaging clients into treatment and utilizing community supports. This is a non-supervisory position that work directly with clients as well an interdisciplinary team of professional.

PRIMARY DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

Acts as a service connector for behavioral health clients, and/or developmental disability linking them and their families to services

Work with individual clients improve the health and well-being while reducing their emergency room (ER) visits.

Ensure the ERE program responds to critical incidents immediately, as well as providing clinical support and follow-up.

Engage clients directly to build relationships with natural support to effectively divert them from seeking ER/ inpatient hospitalization and out-of-home placements.

Providing linkages that are geared towards improving outcomes for clients, and their families with behavioral health needs.

Ensure clients receive the best clinical services and in a timely manner.

Serves as a resource to other clinicians.

Any other roles as assigned.

Qualifications for this Position:

The ideal candidate will have a minimum of a bachelor’s degree in behavioral health sciences, with at least 2 years of experience in crisis intervention, case management, assessment and treatment of community mental health.
