Summary
The Marketing Lead oversees Marketing strategy and implementation for the Chicago office. This is a player/coach role, which involves strategy development, resource and team management, and project implementation.
Ideal candidate will possess a minimum of 10 years of marketing experience, preferably in the commercial real estate industry or a related professional services organization. Must be self-motivated, extremely organized, detail oriented and possess exceptional writing ability and basic graphic design skills as well as the ability to manage time and priorities effectively. In addition to strategy development and team management, responsibilities include business development (pitch/proposal) support, research and development of marketing and content programs, management of collateral materials, public relations, award submissions, website and social media strategy as well as supporting recruitment initiatives.
Key responsibilities
Marketing Strategy and Execution – Develop and execute a marketing strategy that differentiates Chicago office and supports the growth of each business line, including brand strategy, public relations, social media, event planning, industry conferences, technology deployment, and presentation development. Ensure that appropriate input is secured from representatives of key groups within the business. Execution should adhere with overall brand positioning and guidelines.
Leadership & People Management – Lead local office marketing staff to achieve established objectives. Ensure effective execution against the plan and budget, leading and mentoring staff, emphasize proactive behavior, and build and improve processes. Direct, coach, evaluate and mentor marketing and research personnel to ensure they are meeting and exceeding expectations. Direct and manage third-party vendors (photographers/videographers/illustrators) on an as-needed basis.
Innovation - Develop new and innovative ways to present Cresa in the marketplace and differentiate throughout the business development cycle. Leverage team creativity, outside resources and national platform to identify best-in-class, cutting edge marketing tactics and formats that distinguish Cresa from our competitors.
Project Management – Implement a process to ensure appropriate prioritization of all marketing and research projects, production and operation, including assigning appropriate personnel, quality control, and consistent timely delivery. Process should enable project monitoring, tracking and reporting.
Relationship Building – Establish strong, trust-based working relationships with all Cresa local leaders and national influencers. Collaborate with peers in other markets and national marketing and research colleagues to share best and “next” practices.
Business Development – For major pursuits, manage the RFP and new business pitch/presentation process, including setting, enforcing, and maintaining a timeline for successful completion. Collaborate with Research and Sales Enablement professionals to support broker business development strategies via by social media, direct targeting campaigns and technology adoption.
Public Relations / Social Media / Events – Develop and execute proactive public relations, social media and events plans in coordination with external vendors and internal team.

Education/experience
- Must possess a BA in marketing, communications, journalism or related field
- A minimum of 10 years of experience in commercial real estate or a related professional services industry.
- Proven experience leading, managing and collaborating in a team-oriented environment
- Technical literacy in Microsoft (Word, Excel, PowerPoint) and Adobe CC (InDesign, Photoshop and Acrobat) and knowledge of marketing best practices and tools
- Excellent communication, creative, project management, research, and organizational skills
- Experience in a fast-paced work environment with demanding work loads
