Summary
The Senior Vice President, Operations is primarily responsible to develop strong connectivity with the market operations, to ensure local implementation of key corporate programs required for the continued growth of the Company. The SVP, Operations will be to operationalize strategic objectives, create the necessary structure to scale the business, and provide the resources needed to do so. The ideal candidate will be results-oriented and data-driven with a successful track record of adapting to variable business environments and needs. This senior leadership role is pivotal in driving the operational and financial performance of the business, with a strong focus on market leadership, P&L ownership, and operational excellence. The successful candidate will be responsible for all aspects of market performance, including outcomes, teammate engagement and retention, financial results, and client experience and retention. They instill a culture of operational discipline, and ensure the delivery of the company's mission. The role requires a leader with an ownership mindset, a commitment to operational excellence, and a passion for teammate and client-centric leadership.
Key responsibilities
LEADERSHIP
- Act as a strategic partner on the leadership team and works closely with the team to ensure performance expectations are met.
- Execute business plan, achieving or exceeding established P&L objectives.
- Coaches and develops the team to ensure they are delivering against key business metrics.
- Looks for methods to improve quality, efficiency, and productivity, reduce costs, increase profits, or improve control measures
- Works collaboratively to develop and/or improve systems, processes, controls, and procedures that improve overall efficiency
- Provides timely, accurate and complete reports on the operating condition of the company
- Collaborates with the management team to develop and implement plans for the operational infrastructure of systems, processes, and personnel designed to accommodate the rapid growth objectives of our organization
- Demonstrates a willingness to take on new tasks with a general attitude that no task is too small, impossible, or cannot be improved
- Work autonomously while ensuring CEO expectations are readily met and exceeded
- Fosters a success-oriented, accountable environment within the company
REASONING ABILITY
- Ability to solve advanced problems and deal with a variety of options in complex situations
- Requires expert level analytical and quantitative skills with proven experience in developing strategic solutions for a growing matrix-based multi-service line/brokerage environment
- Draws upon the analysis of others and makes recommendations that have a direct impact on the company
COMMUNICATION SKILLS
- Comprehend, analyze, and interpret the most complex business documents
- Respond effectively to the most sensitive issues
- Write reports, manuals, and articles using distinctive style in partnership with Marketing
- Make effective and persuasive presentations on complex topics to employees, clients, top management and/or public groups in partnership with Marketing
- Motivate and negotiate effectively with key employees, top management, and client groups to take desired action
Qualifications
- Strong leadership and relationship building skills - can engage and influence both direct and indirect reports and peers
- Understanding of business needs and how business decisions impact the company
- Adaptable problem-solving skills with ability to prioritize effectively
- Exceptional communication and listening skills
- Experience working with a wide range of stakeholders ranging from board members to support staff
- Flexible, reliable, and collaborative team player
- Ability to operate as an effective tactical and strategic thinker
- Knowledge of industry’s legal rules and guidelines
- In depth knowledge of diverse business functions and principles (e.g. finance, business facing technology, etc.)
- Working knowledge of data analysis and performance/operation metrics
- Familiarity with MS Office and required business software
Education and Experience
- Commercial Real Estate industry experience required
- 15+ years experience with varied and increasing job responsibilities
- Experience managing through change and working in a brokerage setting a plus
