Purpose of Position:

The Production Manager plays a key leadership role in driving safe, efficient, and on-time production across day and swing shifts, leading a team of approximately 30 to 50 employees. Working from the daily production schedule, this role oversees the materials, people, and resources needed to manufacture, modify, and repair products while ensuring high quality standards, cost control, and delivery performance. This is an opportunity to make a direct impact by coordinating cross-functional support, solving production challenges, and helping the team consistently meet customer and business expectations.

Major Areas of Responsibility:

· Identifies and resolves bottlenecks in the production process

· Identifies opportunities and guides teams to continuously improve processes using Lean methodology

· Lead production meetings and coach employees

· Interface with the engineering, quality, supply chain, purchasing and warehouse teams

· Be able to be effective in a fast-paced production environment

· Ability to adapt quickly in a changing environment

· Coordinate and supervise all work performed within the department(s), including the assignment and utilization of labor, equipment, and materials to meet production schedules and performance / quality standards.

· Work with cross-functional personnel to resolve problems.

· Counsels and disciplines production employees who fail to perform or violate company policies

· Complete performance evaluations for all employees under his / her supervision

· Interface with other supervisors to coordinate his / her department's work with that of other departments

· Manage Key Performance Indicators and prepare reports for regular communication

· Enforce safety policies and procedures, (both in-house and regulatory), to decrease the potential for employee injuries on the job

· Select, supervise, and train subordinates in overall performance of their job

· Coordinate production with planners for priority scheduling and backlog reduction

· Perform other duties or tasks as assigned by Operations Director

· Assure that inventory is cycle counted and correct daily

· Support ISO 9001 and 14001

Knowledge and Experience - Required:

· Bachelors degree or equivalent experience.

·5+ years of production experience.

·3+ years of leadership experience and the ability to effectively lead, manage, train and motivate a diverse group of employees to achieve high production levels within tight time deadlines.

·Knowledge of SAP

· Ability to coordinate a wide variety of resources to meet production quality and quantity metrics within a highly dynamic environment.

· Kaizen mindset.

· Strong prioritizing and time management skills.

· Well-developed communication skills, both verbal and written.


Knowledge and Experience - Desired:

· Industrial Engineering Experience

· Experience with Power BI

· Experience with 8-Step and 8D problem solving methodology


Travel:

  • Some International and/or Domestic travel is required - 10-15%
