Purpose of Position

The Product Specialist, Safety plays a critical role in ensuring the global success of Hexagon's suite of Safety products. A Product Specialist utilizes expert technical knowledge, advanced problem-solving abilities, and cross-functional collaboration to support product development, deployment, quality assurance, and user adoption worldwide. The role focuses on driving product success through hands-on technical validation, upskilling regional teams, and providing advanced support for complex challenges. Additionally, the Product Specialist leads technical documentation initiatives, supports strategic product deployments through alpha and beta field trials, and helps the Product Manager define the product vision and roadmap. A Product Specialist supports a specific product, or set of products, within the portfolio and reports to the Product Manager. This Product Specialist role will primarily focus on Hexagon's Operator Alertness System (OAS), the industry's leading solution for operator fatigue and distraction, and report to the Product Manager, OAS.

Major Areas of Responsibility

  • Acquiring and maintaining a deep, up-to-date understanding of the product portfolio
  • Building strong customer relationships and maintaining user-centric approach to the role
  • Collaborating global and regional Services and Support to ensure successful product deployment
  • Validating new product releases through comprehensive internal testing, field trials, and user feedback
  • Supporting Sales through in-depth product knowledge, pre-sales demos, and customer-specific inquiries
  • Supporting complex, high-level support issues, including critical system failures and advanced configuration
  • Acting as a critical link between support teams and product development to address persistent challenges
  • Leading the development and maintenance of comprehensive technical reference materials
  • Managing and coordinating field trials, including site selection, test planning, and results analysis
  • Using internal tooling to enhance planning and communication such as Aha!, Jira, Salesforce, and SAP
  • Maintaining professional conduct internally and externally, always representing Hexagon's values across diverse cultural and operational contexts

Position Requirements (Required)

  • Prior experience with technology in the mining industry
  • First-hand experience working with mining operations and customers
  • Excellent customer-facing presence
  • Excellent analytical and problem solving skills
  • Ability to contribute both independently and as part of a team
  • Strong listening, communication, interpersonal and presentation skills
  • Good time management and ability to work with disparate teams is essential
  • Self-managed, able to work in fast-paced and changing environments with a hands-on attitude

Position Requirements (Desired)

  • Existing familiarity with Hexagon Safety solutions
  • Bachelor or Advanced Diploma in Computer, Electrical, Mining or relevant Engineering Discipline (experience will be considered in lieu of education)
  • Experience in the testing and validation of technology products and development of corresponding training courses
  • Experience working with global products and customers, especially in the mining industry

Travel

  • Regional and/or international travel may be required to fulfill the role requirements. Travel is not expected to exceed 25%; however, additional travel may be required at times to support key deployment activities
