Purpose of Position:
As a DevOps Engineer, you will work closely with a team of architects, engineers, and developers to build, maintain, and deploy reference architectures and operational systems for both cloud and on premise systems. You will make sure to follow security best practices and design security into everything you do. You will be a key driver in the automation and monitoring of processes, services and deployments and will utilize modern DevSecOps principles such as Infrastructure as Code and Containerization for the Continuous Integration and Continuous Deployment of our Applications and Infrastructure.
Major Areas of Responsibility:
- Build, deploy, and manage secure and scalable cloud infrastructure using Microsoft Azure, Amazon Web Services, Google Cloud Platform or similar.
- Develop Infrastructure as Code for repeatable and scalable infrastructure using industry standards like Terraform
- Design and Implement CI/CD Pipelines using Atlassian Bamboo and ArgoCD for both infrastructure and product deployment
- Automate processes and deployments of applications and infrastructure using Kubernetes and containerization
- Implement monitoring, management processes, and disaster recovery for operations to provide high availability and ensure scalability.
- Enforce security best practices and ensure compliance with industry standards and regulations, safeguarding sensitive data and intellectual property.
Knowledge and Experience - Required:
- Bachelors degree in Engineering (Computer or Electrical preferred) or Computer Science or the equivalent work experience
- Strong knowledge of Continuous Integration/Continuous Deployment and DevOps principles
- Experience managing, developing, and deploying cloud infrastructure using Terraform. Azure ARM/Bicep or AWS CloudFormation experience a plus.
- 2 plus years experience with containerization and deployment using Kubernetes and Docker
- 2 plus years experience building CI/CD pipelines using any industry standard toolchain
- Knowledge of Prometheus and Grafana for observability and monitoring
- Proficiency in scripting and automation tools such as Linux Bash, PowerShell and Python
- Knowledge of Cybersecurity industry standards such as NIST or CIS.
Knowledge and Experience - Desired:
- Relevant certifications in cloud platforms such as AWS, Azure, or GCP are a plus.
- Relevant certifications for tools such as the "Certified Kubernetes Administrator" or "Prometheus Certified Associate" are a plus
- Relevant certifications in Cybersecurity are a plus.
- Knowledge of Agile development methodologies a plus.
- Past development experience using a language such as C++, C#, Python or Javascript is a plus
- Knowledge of Atlassian Bamboo, Atlassian Bitbucket, Atlassian Jira, and JFrog Artifactory are a plus.
Travel:
- Very minimal internal travel may be occasionally required.
Language:
- Fluent English (written and verbal) is a prerequisite.
