Inventory Manager - New Store Opening

About the Role:

The Inventory Manager is responsible for all inventory operations within the store, ensuring accuracy, compliance, and product availability in a high-volume retail environment. This role oversees inventory tracking, ordering, receiving, and reconciliation, while maintaining strict adherence to state cannabis regulations and company standards.

Essential Duties & Responsibilities:

Inventory Control

  • Own inventory accuracy across all systems and physical product
  • Conduct regular cycle counts, full audits, and inventory reconciliations
  • Maintain real-time, accurate inventory data within POS and state tracking systems
  • Monitor inventory levels to ensure product availability and proper assortment

Ordering and Receiving

  • Forecast demand and place orders based on sales trends and business needs
  • Receive and verify shipments for accuracy, quality, and compliance
  • Investigate and resolve discrepancies in deliveries and invoices
  • Organize and maintain back stock for efficient storage and access

Compliance and Reporting

  • Ensure full compliance with all state cannabis regulations and company policies
  • Maintain accurate inventory records, including the use of METRC or applicable tracking systems
  • Prepare for and support internal and external audits
  • Identify, report, and resolve inventory variances in a timely manner

Operational Support

  • Partner with store leadership to support daily operations and product flow
  • Ensure timely restocking during peak business hours
  • Identify opportunities to improve inventory processes and efficiency
  • Support store teams with inventory-related needs as required
  • Perform other duties as assigned

Qualifications & Education:

Minimum Qualifications

  • Experience in inventory management, retail operations, or a related role
  • Strong attention to detail and organizational skills
  • Ability to maintain accuracy in a fast-paced, high-volume environment
  • Experience with inventory systems and POS platforms
  • Must be able to pass a background check

Preferred Qualifications

  • 2+ years of inventory or stock management experience
  • Experience in a regulated industry (cannabis strongly preferred)
  • Experience with METRC or similar inventory tracking systems, strongly preferred

Physical Requirements

  • Ability to lift and move up to 50 pounds
  • Ability to stand, walk, bend, and reach for extended periods
  • Comfortable working in both stockroom and retail floor environments

Work Environment

  • Retail dispensary environment with moderate to high noise levels
  • Fast-paced setting with frequent interruptions and shifting priorities
  • Requires flexibility, including evenings, weekends, and holidays as needed
  • Shifts/Working Hours may extend up to 3:00 AM for this location.
