We are seeking a proactive and detail-oriented Corporate Counsel to join our dynamic legal team within the fast-paced EdTech industry. This role offers the opportunity to work on a broad range of legal matters, supporting the organization’s mission to transform education through technology while ensuring compliance, minimizing risk, and enabling business growth.
The Corporate Counsel position will support a wide range of commercial, transactional, and regulatory matters and will work across functional areas. This position represents an excellent opportunity to make substantial contributions to a dynamic and growing business. This is a US-based, remote position reporting directly to the company’s Chief Legal Officer & General Counsel. The Finalsite Legal team works together with our business teams to support the company’s sales and other strategic initiatives, as well as regulatory compliance functions.

100% Remote - Anywhere within the US
RESPONSIBILITIES
Draft, review, and negotiate a variety of agreements, including SaaS contracts, software licensing, vendor agreements, and partnership agreements
Assist with compliance and regulatory issues related to data privacy (e.g., FERPA, GDPR, COPPA), intellectual property, and education laws
Support the legal team in responding to requests for proposals (RFPs) and customer contractual requirements
Conduct legal research on emerging EdTech issues, regulatory updates, and best practices
Help manage intellectual property matters, including trademarks, copyrights, and software licensing
Assist in developing and maintaining standard contract templates and policies
Collaborate with cross-functional teams (sales, product, engineering, HR) to provide timely legal guidance
Participate in risk management efforts by identifying potential risks and recommending solutions
Support dispute resolution processes, including responding to customer or vendor claims under supervision of senior counsel
Maintain accurate and organized legal records and databases
QUALIFICATIONS AND SKILLS
Juris Doctor (JD) from an accredited law school
Licensed and in good standing with at least one U.S. state bar
5-7 years of legal experience, preferably in-house or with a law firm
Experience in or in-depth knowledge of standard contractual provisions preferably relating to provision of SaaS services and/or software licensing and relevant privacy terms in the US and abroad for a technology provider.
Strong legal research, writing, and analytical skills
Detail-oriented, superior organizational skills.
Ability to manage multiple projects in a fast-paced environment
Effective communicator with strong interpersonal skills to collaborate across departments
