A leading medical institution is seeking a Pathologist Assistant to support Anatomic Pathology operations. This role focuses on grossing specimens, assisting with frozen sections, and supporting laboratory and administrative functions within a high-volume pathology department.

Pathologist Assistant Responsibilities:

  • Perform gross examination, description, and photographing of surgical specimens and assist with frozen section procedures under the supervision of pathology leadership.
  • Support Anatomic Pathology operations by preparing and maintaining protocols, reports, data, and laboratory documentation while ensuring accuracy and compliance.
  • Assist with administrative, budgetary, and teaching-related activities, including maintaining instruments and supporting departmental workflows.
  • Collaborate with pathologists, laboratory staff, and leadership to ensure efficient specimen processing and high-quality diagnostic support.
  • Maintain compliance with all laboratory procedures, safety standards, and regulatory requirements while supporting continuous improvement initiatives.

Pathologist Assistant Qualifications:

  • 1+ years of experience working as a Pathologist’s Assistant with a consistent and relevant work history.
  • Bachelor’s degree in a biological or health sciences field from an accredited institution.
  • Completion of a Pathologists’ Assistant program accredited by the National Accrediting Agency for Clinical Laboratory Sciences (NAACLS).
  • PA(ASCP) certification or eligibility to obtain certification within 12 months of hire is required.
  • Strong knowledge of anatomic pathology procedures, specimen handling, and laboratory operations.

Shift:

  • Flexible schedule between 9:00 am and 8:30 pm.
