A leading biotechnology company is seeking a Histology Associate. The successful candidate will support the functions of the histology laboratories in the performance of routine histotechniques.

Histology Associate Responsibilities:

  • Histotechniques (Tissue Sectioning and Staining):
    • Demonstrate foundational histotechniques of embedding, microtomy, coverslipping, processing, and primary staining.
    • Operate laboratory or manufacturing equipment.
  • Quality and Safety:
    • Maintain the right to operate and ensure that all processes are performed safely and healthily.
    • Address and escalate any potentially unsafe hazards. Timely reports safety hazards, incidents, and near misses using safety reporting tools.
  • Participate in process improvement activities.

Histology Associate Qualifications:

  • 1 year of direct related histology experience.
  • H.S. Diploma or GED.
  • Experience with foundational histotechniques of embedding, microtomy, coverslipping, processing and primary staining.
  • Experience with operating laboratory or manufacturing equipment.
  • Demonstrated experience with Lean / Continuous Improvement.
  • Experience with Google products (Gmail, Sheets, Doc, etc), preferred.
  • Experience with SAP required.
  • Ability to read, analyze and follow operating procedures.
  • Knowledge of basic manufacturing and laboratory techniques.
  • Skilled use of word processing and email.
  • Ability to be agile and accurate in a high-volume environment, use the technology associated with the industry, as well as precision tools.

Shift:

  • Ability to work on a 1st or 2nd Shift.
  • This is an essential position supporting the organizational goals requiring attendance on weekends, holidays, and during emergency or exceptional conditions.
  • Travel will be required and will depend on business needs.
